1. Concerto Inn 3* – Pet Staycation Hong Kong

Offering quiet beachside accommodation, Concerto Inn is located beside Hung Shing Yeh Beach on Hong Kong’s Lamma Island. Overlooking tropical gardens and the sea, it has free Wi-Fi and a restaurant. The seaside is just steps away.

Fully air-conditioned, rooms are painted in white and complemented with shades of yellow and blue. Each is equipped with a flat-screen TV and minibar. Selected rooms come with private balconies.

Concerto Inn is a 30-minute ferry ride from Hong Kong Island. Lamma Island’s pier is a 20-minute walk from the property.

Set on lively, white-sand Hung Shing Ye Beach, this laid-back hotel is 1 minute away on foot from Lamma Island Family Walk, and 2 km from Yung Shue Wan Ferry Pier.

Modest, storybook-themed rooms provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and safes, plus mini fridges, and tea and coffee making facilities; some have private balconies with beach views. Upgraded rooms feature scenic landscape murals.

Amenities include a relaxed open-air cafe/bar, and event space on a rooftop garden terrace.

Lovely stay on Lamma. The service at the hotel is impeccable – better than at many 5 star places I’ve stayed at. Really personable and friendly staff. The rooms are simple but do the job. Beautiful view from the balcony.

We stayed with our dogs and they were very well taken care of too. The set up right on the beach is great and the food in the restaurant is decent and good value.

The room was spacious and clean with a large balcony and excellent view of the beach. The proximity to the beach and being located directly on the Family Trail for hiking, are the highlights of this property.

Overall we were very impressed and very happy during our stay. Thus far our best hotel experience on Lamma Island and would definitely visit again.

It is a pet friendly property. Complimentary breakfast can be improved.

One of the only listed dog friendly places in HK, we went to spend a weekend on Lamma with our large hound. Situated right on the beach – just loved it and so did our dog! Staff were fantastic and it felt like a million miles from the hustle and bustle of Central HK. Breakfast and dinner on the beach (with dog)- a massive hike on the family trail (not sure why it ever got that title as it’s a tough one!) and a nice large ground floor balcony with daybed.

The only two things I would change – the bedrooms are small, and it’s a good 15 min walk from the ferry.

Prices start 80$/night for Executive Double Room. The Superior Double Room is 97$/room per night with breakfast included – if coming on a honeymoon this is the perfect choice for pet owners.

2. Hotel sáv 4* – Dog Staycation Hong Kong

Located close to the city centre, the 4-star Hotel sáv is only a 5-minute walk from Wonderful Worlds of Whampoa. Hotel is decorated with chic and colourful decorations, a fitness centre and 2 on-site restaurants. Free WiFi is available in all areas.

Hotel sáv is a 10-minute walk from Hung Hom Station (East Rail Line and West Rail Line). The property is only a 5-minute-walk to Whampoa MTR Station Exit B. It is an 8-minute drive from Temple Street Night Market, a 10-minute drive from Ladies Market, Tsim Sha Tsui or Harbour City Shopping Mall and a 15-minute drive from Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. Hong Kong International Airport is 45 minutes’ drive away.

Offering city views, each airy, bright room features modern decor and includes air conditioning and a minibar.

This polished hotel is a 5-minute walk from Whampoa subway station, a 14-minute walk from Ko Shan Theatre and 3 km from Harbour City mall.

Chic colour-themed rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as minibars, safes, and tea and coffee making facilities. Upgraded rooms add living space; some include complimentary breakfast and/or sitting areas.

A number of rooms occupy themed floors and feature original artwork by local designers and artists.

Hotel has plenty of restaurants and eatery outlets around it. MTR station is about less than 10 minutes walk away. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Room is clean and comfortable. I will come back to stay again.

Hotel itself is situated in the “real” part of H.K. among the locals and you will be amazed at the vibrancy of the surrounding area , most of the local area is high rise apartments and many shops selling very local products and many many small food take away shops with some sit down cafe ( very little english spoken here), dont expect anything fancy but it is a great place to immerse yourself in H.K. life.

It is also a short taxi ride about €4 to the waterfront where you can get the ferry to H.K. island

Hotel itself is great , rooms are small with very little wardrobe or storage room, but they are clean and well kept . they have safes and tea makers in all rooms which is great.

3. Ovolo Southside 4* – Pet Friendly Hotels Hong Kong

Where cool design and love of art meet, Ovolo Southside is a warehouse-converted hotel which provides a space brimming with sleek, meticulous design and awe-inspiring art throughout.

Set in the fast-rising Wong Chuk Hang district, Ovolo Southside is just a 15-minute drive from Central and Wan Chai, and a mere 5-minute walk to Ocean Park and Wong Chuk Hang MTR Station, giving guests access to Admiralty, Central, Causeway Bay and beyond in as quickly as 6 minutes.

Every corner of the 162-room hotel was designed for maximum effect. Whether it’s the floor-to-ceiling windows, sleek exposed industrial piping or super-duper comfortable bedding. Air-conditioned rooms here are all fitted with a flat-screen TV, a safety deposit box and a minibar. Offering a rainfall shower, private bathroom also comes with a hairdryer and free toiletries.

This ultrahip hotel, set in a converted warehouse, is a minute’s walk from the nearest bus stop, 2 km from Ocean Park Hong Kong theme park and 13 km from Victoria Peak.

Featuring industrial-chic decor, the trendy rooms have flat-screen TVs, and floor-to ceiling windows with views of the city. Upgraded rooms add sitting areas, and some come with 3D-TVs. Room service is offered.

Breakfast, snacks and limited evening drinks are complimentary. Other amenities include a clubby rooftop bar, and a fashionable bistro-style restaurant with a terrace. There’s also a 24-hour gym and a guest laundry. Parking is available.

This was one of my favourite weekend staycations of all time – because I got to spend it with my dog Steven. Ovolo has implemented a new #VIPooch experience for dog owners, which includes a very clean and spacious dog-friendly room complete with a pack of dog food, food & water bowls and a dog bed. This is in addition to the free mini bar full of drinks, and a loot bag full of (human) snacks. The social happy hour in the lounge is a must-visit (free drinks and travellers!) and the rooftop bar too with an amazing view of the city.

We ordered room service from the restaurant and they even boiled a chicken for Steven. Also loved the breakfast buffet, which offered a full range of eggs, ham, bacon, waffles and more.

Its fantastic that Ovolo provides dogs-friendly accommodation. Perfect for a weekend getaway with your doggo. All kind of doggo treats and free drinks available. The package is awesome. 24 hours gym and brekkie is on point.

Renovated from an industrial building, this is a vivid hotel with beautiful design. The vicinity is well decorated and the room is clean and neat – Spotless. It is also a pet friendly hotel. It comes with free in-room minibar.

Hou Sai Lei in Cantonese means Awesome. The Ovolo Southside is very Hou Sai Lei. Don’t be discouraged by the location i.e. being situated on the Southside of Hong Kong Island. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to Wong Chuk Hang Station (MTR), from there it is 2 stops to Admiralty Station, which is one of the biggest and most central stops on the whole MTR line. Want to go to the Lady Street Markets in Mong Kok? No worries, 2 stops to Admiralty, transfer 3 stops to Mong Kok.

Now that we can agree the location is very accessible, let’s zone in on the hotel. It is very cool, modern and has this industrial feel. It is truly one of a kind. No wonder Ovolo Southside won boutique hotel of the year in 2018.
