Pre-Arrival Requirements according to TATNEWS.ORG
All eligible travellers travelling from the eligible countries must have the following documents for entering Thailand:
- A Thailand Pass, which can be applied via https://tp.consular.go.th/.
- A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before travelling.
- Travellers under 6 years of age, travelling with parents with a negative RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before travelling, are not required to have a pre-arrival negative RT-PCR test result and can have a saliva test when entering the Kingdom.
- For arrivals by water, everyone on board the vessels must have a medical certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected within the officially specified time frame. Anyone on board with a history of COVID-19 infection within a period between 14-90 days must have a medical certificate of recovery. *We will provide an update on this as soon as the official information becomes available.
- An insurance policy with coverage no less than US$50,000.
- Thais and foreign expatriates under Thailand’s national healthcare coverage are exempt from this requirement.
- A confirmed payment for at least a 7-day stay at an approved accommodation; such as, a SHA++ hotel, within either Krabi, Phang-Nga, Phuket, or Surat Thani (Ko Samui, Ko Pha-ngan, and Ko Tao). They must also have proof of a confirmed payment for 2 RT-PCR tests, which can be reserved via www.thailandpsas.com (2,100 Baht per 1 test, or totalling 4,200 Baht for 2 tests).
- A Certificate of COVID-19 Vaccination/Recovery
- Everyone 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand.
- Travellers 12-17 years of age travelling to Thailand unaccompanied must get vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine. Those travelling with parents are exempt from this requirement.
- Travellers 6-11 years of age, travelling with parents, are exempt from this requirement.
- For arrivals by water, everyone on board must be fully vaccinated. This is except for travellers under 18 years of age, travelling with parents or guardians. *We will provide an update on this as soon as the official information becomes available.
- Travellers with a history of COVID-19 infection who have recovered by medical treatment and travellers who have received at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine after post-infection must have a certificate of COVID-19 recovery.
All travellers must undergo ‘exit screening’ at the point of departure, i.e., at the airline check-in counter and present the required documents to the person-in-charge to carry out the checks.

I got a room in 3rd fl. It is a decorated clean small room. There are some change due to COVID e.g. coffee, tea and drinking water are free on request, which is good for reducing west. The cups were change to paper cup, I still Ok with the normal cup.
Water pressure and temperature control are the best. Water pressure was highest I ever seen.
Air condition control got 5 Celsius offsets. Wifi was usable, there are some weak sport for cell phone and the speed was just Ok.

– Everything else in Phuket Town is within walking distance. From Michelin Roti Taew Nam, regular local food court (the uncle knew my usual custom fried rice order), to upper end Japanese restaurants for example.
– Bed: clean. If you were like me, the bed was the perfect softness/hardness. Something about a renovated historic building too that makes you sleep till noon.
– Overall room: clean. Perfectly functioning room. The decorations and classic Sino-Portuguese architecture were just icing on the cake for me 🙂
– With the declining tourism, I was the only guest after my 3rd day there. Enjoyed the quietness of the town because of this.

My wife and I loved our recent four week stay at The Gallery. This new hotel is very professionally managed. There are two beautiful swimming pools. The maids keep everything exceptionally clean at all times.
The location is superb: just across the street from the head of the lake and only a few hundred meters from gorgeous Nai Harn Beach. We joined the local residents and tourists running (we actually walked) laps around the lake every morning.

Great hotel for kids, the waterslide keeps the kids entertained all day while you lay by the pool. Staff go out of their way to accommodate, they make the whole PCR testing easy and smooth and nothing is too much trouble. Beach is 100m walk and the first restaurant as you walk out back date makes great food. Breakfast has lots of choices. Rooms are very new and clean.
Only negative I booked a two bedroom family deluxe and from the pictures it looked like an apartment but is two rooms joined together. Might be cheaper to book one bedroom if travelling with kids. I would definitely come back to this hotel and Kata beach my new favourite place in Phuket.

We’ve just spent three days at the Phuket Pool Residence and could not be happier with the experience. The host is fantastic and gives lots of great tips about the area and what to see, the cleanliness of the villa is also faultless. Breakfast is available as an add on for 300 bahts per person per day. Really good value I’d say, you pick what you want the day before and it’s delivered at the time you choose.
The only issue is location, if you are fit and able then you’ll have no issues walking or cycling (plenty of bars/cafes for pit stops!) but if you are travelling with someone with limited mobility then you will need to account for either renting a car or getting taxis – or just enjoy a gorgeous peaceful retreat! The booked SHA Plus Transfer from the hotel worked well. Check in was fast and after a long flight i was just happy to get to my villa.

So spacious. I booked a 1 bedroom Villa, But became a villa with 2 bedrooms. Large and comfortable living Room with a fully equipped kitchen and a large refrigerator and fridge. Well assorted minibar. Bedroom with a very comfortable double bed. Bathroom with bathtub and shower. I had a small issue with not having hot water but it was fixed immediately. Large terrace with table and 4 chairs, 2 sunbeds and a swimming pool (6 x 3 Meter). Villa was clean and terrace/garden well maintained.

All the staff were sweet, kind and friendly and very attentive. The very friendly italian manager is always around

Not many guests in the hotel so no full breakfast buffet, but you could order eggs any style. Some fruit, cereals, coffee and tea- One morning the manager asked me if i missed something for breakfast. I said maybe some muesli and yogurt. Well next morning it was there. Perfect.

The Village Coconut Island is the best resort I’ve stayed at. The staff are super friendly, service on-point, the resort is beautiful and quiet, and all in all the experience is luxurious. Stayed for 2 nights as a couple. Very new hotel with brand new facilities. Check in and check out did take an unnecessarily long time and felt breakfast was a bit limited. Other than that location handy for the beach and hotel ran shuttle bus to beachfront a few times per day.
Did have a good few mosquitoes in the room which was no fault of the hotel would just encourage future visitors to take precautions while in Phuket!

Honestly, the best hotel ever! We had the most wonderful time at Melia Phuket Mai Khao. The facilities are brand new, decorated with an exquisite taste. We stayed at The Grand Mercure for 6 nights in July 2021 during Phuket Sandbox.
The hotel were amazing at organising the PCR tests, even coming back with me when my son had an inconclusive result and speaking Thai and helping me sort it out.
We had a 1 bedroom pool villa which was more than enough space for a family of 4, we had an extra bed and there was a little sofa so we all slept very comfortably for 6 nights.
There is a fridge, a mini bar that is restocked daily (chargeable but not expensive!), plenty of water and towels. I loved the huge bath and the rain shower!
The pool area is fairly small but my boys had a great time jumping in and out and using up energy and the outside chair is so comfortable.
The best bit was that it felt really private like our own little hideaway, so quiet and calm.
The hotel pool is great, steps for little ones and not too deep. The kids club is next to the pool so the kids can go back and forth.
The breakfast everyday was amazing, one of the best we have had in Thailand…the pancakes, eggs Benedict, plentiful coffee and pork bacon and sausages were a winner!

This hotel is very grand, it set in beautiful grounds with many trees and palms. The rooms are a little dated and little dust around ( don’t think room had been used for a while due to pandemic ). The pools are huge and fantastic for children my son will really miss the pools. The beach is stunning and we spent many evening just sitting watching the sun set.
Food in restaurants very good, breakfast ok! Service in Italian was slow some nights but other times not so busy. The staff here all all very friendly and work so hard we would like to especially mention one member Ging, she went above and beyond and made our sons stay and birthday very memorable, she is a credit to Dusit! Would we return, yes! Can’t wait to come back next year, would love to see rooms upgraded.

This hotel has one of the friendliest and helpful staff I’ve ever encountered. They lent me an umbrella, gave me alcohol for a skin break, and helped me print out and photocopy documents.
Plus the pool is a perfect temperature and size. The bar and its bartenders (especially Khun Lik) know how to make a really good cocktail. The shuttle bus service went out of its way to accommodate me. And the free use of bicycles was a helpful treat.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, some parts newer than others but very beautiful and grand. However if you have problems with your mobility I would recommend asking for a room lower down in the complex as it is very steep with a lot of stairs.
We stayed on room 5912 which was a deluxe suite with an ocean view, it was showing signs of age. It wasn’t very well lit so on an evening it was difficult to do your makeup in the dressing area, the curtains didn’t close properly, the shower was faulty and there weren’t plug sockets or a bed side table on both sides of the bed. However these we’re minor inconveniences.
We had to quarantine until our pcr results came back and the hotel were more than happy to let us order room service which I heard other places didn’t.
The food here was outstanding… the breakfast buffet was well stocked with fresh produce and a good selection. Evening meals in the dining area were delicious with a relatively good choice.

This the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The private pool villa was excellent.
The views, service, food and hotel in general were unmatched from anywhere else I have stayed.
The food and drinks were a little more expensive than other places but the quality was much higher. The hotel also do a happy hour with 2 for 1 cocktails which was good.
We took advantage of the free kayak and paddleboard hire – great on the calm waters of the beach.
These is a small traditional Thai restaurant next door to the hotel which is also highly recommended.
