I have spend more than 2 weeks in Vietnam (my second time in first country after the 2009 visit) and Hoi An was to be one of the highlights of my trip. And I have to say that Rice Village Homestay was one of the best hotels accommodation during my trip and in Hoi An.

Beach was the second  reason which I choose Vietnam. I wanted to spend a few days on the beach in Vietnam and before travelling I did a long research for the beaches in Vietnam. I had advices from who stays in Hue and I have choose Hue at the end to spend days at the beach.

My surprise was that not Hue had the nicest beaches in Vietnam but Hoi An and the road from Hoi An to Da Nang is resort after resort and great beach after great beach. But this in a separate article about the best beaches in Vietnam

I arrived early in the morning in Hoi An and since the streets are quite narrowed the bus could not make it to Rice Village Homestay the only solution was via a taxi. Paid around 4 60-65.000 dong from the drop off point to Rice Village Homestay – luckily I had Google Maps installed and directed the taxi driver to the right location.

Location of Rice Village Homestay

Staying in the Old City of Hue was not an option because the prices of the hotels in the Old City of Hue are well above my budget. Instead I have choose a hotel a bit far away by the main city (10 minutes my bike) and 5 minutes to the beach. And it was the right decision on term of location.

This homestay is located perfectly between the town and beach (An Bang Beach Hoi An) which was great for us. There are free rental of bicycles which are great since there are approx. 2-3 km to Hoi An.

Set in a lovely location, in amongst the rice fields, not far from the beach or the town.

Rooms

Rice Village Homestay

The rooms are big, comfortable beds, great bathroom, nice little balcony and beautiful garden. Wifi worked pretty well same as the hotel in Dalat.

I have booked the twin room with  the balcony and it was the best decision. Great view of the paddy fields and the perfect spot on the terrance to have the coffee in the morning.

Room facilities: Balcony, View, Garden view, TV, Telephone, Cable Channels, Air conditioning, Seating Area, Carpeted, Wardrobe/Closet, Shower, Hairdryer, Free toiletries, Bathroom, Slippers, Bath or Shower, Minibar, Electric kettle, Wake-up service, Towels, Linen

The bathroom was not very big but had all the amenities as shampoo or slippers. And it was the first hotel in my Vietnamese trip where the shower was separated.

Breakfast

The breakfast is served on the ground floor inside the hotel. Personally would have been nicer to be served in their lovely garden; can be possible but did not asked.

Was the best we’ve had in Asia, your choice of omelette or scrambled eggs or asian breakfast, fresh juice and baguette. Also a variety of fruits. Their popular choice was not available during our stay and I had only the scrambled eggs which were OK and a bit oily. The Vietnamese coffee was great!

The owner helps you with everything including motorbike rentals, bikes, trips and tips and does a very good Vietnamese coffee!
