Serviced Apartment Bangkok – The Kaze 34 Hotel and Serviced Residence

During my last stay in Bangkok, taking into consideration that I was about to spend more than 4 days I was looking for a quiet place and in the same time close to shops, restaurants and of course transportation or MRT. But since Grab Code Bangkok is available and very cheap mean of transportation it did not matter that much the distance to MRT or BTS. And I decided to book a serviced apartment Bangkok for the first time. Before I either sleep in hotels, hostels and never tried yet Airbnb in Bangkok.

Hotels prices were a bit high in January, being the beginning of the peak season in Thailand and best solution came via serviced apartment Bangkok.  Before booking The Kaze 34 Hotel and Serviced Residence I booked and then canceled around 5 hotels; having too many options is not that good and will explain in future post how to book find the best hotel in Bangkok.

Location @ The Kaze 34 Hotel and Serviced Residence

Centrally located in Bangkok, The Kaze 34 is a convenient 10-minute drive to The Emporium Department Store. Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain Station is 15 minutes distance walking but the closest BTS Station is Thonglor only 10 minutes walking. After a long visiting and shopping day it can be a long way from the BTS to Kaze 34 but if you like walking is not such a big deal.

Many people complained on Tripadvisor that the Kaze 34 Serviced Apartment Bangkok is quite far away from shops and restaurants. Not quite true.

Close to the main round there is a local noodle shop with very cheap food – only 80 thai baht for bowl of noodle. If you want one of the best coffee in Bangkok and excellent breakfast in Ekkamai go to Blue Dye Cafe. For full review of Blue Dye Cafe click here.

10 meters away from Thong Lo BTS is a small food court opened till late in the evening where you can find good thai food and fresh juice.

Of course there is a 7-Eleven close to the metro station.

If you want to see Bangkok from above, one of the best Sky Bars in Bangkok is located 10 minutes walking of The Kaze 34 Serviced Apartment Bangkok – Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar.

So you have quite a few places to eat around the place; if you are a fan of Thai Food there is selec restaurant not even 5 minutes walking from the serviced apartment – Taling Pling and if you want to try the famous Kobe meat –Yasuda Restaurant is just around the corner.

Check in @ The Kaze 34 Hotel and Serviced Residence

I arrived late in the evening around 10.30pm; being a serviced apartment the stuff is not present all the time; there were no one there and we had to wait for 5 minutes till someone arrived. Check in was fast, payment as well but due to the lack of english of the person on duty on that night no information was provided regarding Bangkok tours or the surroundings of the place.

Facilities @ The Kaze 34 Hotel and Serviced Residence

Being a serviced apartment the kitchen is decent equipment with a washing machine, kettle, microwave and refrigerator. They were a bit old and the microwave was not working in the room I booked at Kaze 34 Serviced Apartment Bangkok. There were not available any cooking options or to boil the water for example.

An electric cooking machine was present but when tried to open it did not work as well. And no matches were provided to the kitchen.

Secondly,  there were no slippers available in the room and free water was provided only 2 days out of the 4 days I stayed in total at Kaze 34 Serviced Apartment Bangkok.

There was a bit table in the middle of the room and with complete set of plates knives and glasses.

Many of Bangkok hotels lack a decent and normal facility – window! Either hotels are without windows at all our they have windows but you can not open it. Luckily Kaze 34 had a window which was possible to be opened.

I stayed in the Classic Studio for 2 people and the room is very big – 42 m² way bigger than many hotels rooms in Bangkok.

The room is very spacious, feels almost like a small apartment. The bed is very comfortable, the wifi works great, as well as the AC. As for the AC since it’s not located directly to the room and there is a wall between the bed and the AC is perfect positioned not to be very cold during the night.

Bed was super comfortable and being located not close to the street I sleep very well during my stay at Kaze 34. Pillows were a bit too soft for my standards.

One downside was the lack of socket close to be bed; only 1 available with the rest only either in the kitchen or in the bathroom.

TV The Kaze 34 Bangkok
TV The Kaze 34 Bangkok

There is a TV as well in the room. Still don’t understand why hotels still make this investment in the hotel room. In my last travelling and I stayed at more than 20 hotels I never stiwich on the TV! At the location of the TV in the Kaze was not directly to the bed and was in a separate room, making no sense to watch TV.

The coolest thing about the closet was that once you open it, it would get lighted!

The Bathroom @ The Kaze 34 Hotel and Serviced Residence

The bathroom has beside the normal toilet a bathtub not a shower. Usually I prefer hotels with a shower rather than a bathtub because the latest once are hard to be cleaned and not sure how much work the cleaning person do in on it.

The heater look a bit old and the water pressure was not great and not that hot.

An aspect which I did not liked were the curtains. There were very old and not very clean.

Bathroom amenities included Toilet paper, Towels, Bath or Shower gels with apricots flavours.

The Washing machine (Did not use it) was in a strange place located. Close to the sink and a small closet and to the door I managed to hit my toe sever times.
