After 1 year and a half, Thailand is about to open again for tourists! Bye bye cold weather from the Europe or USA and Canada! Time for some great family resorts in Phuket and the amazing beaches of Thailand!

You must book a SHA+ hotel for the first night within a two hour drive from the international airport of Suvarnabhumi; you can not go straight to Phuket and your first night must be in a SHA Plus hotel in Bangkok and then go straight to Phuket to continue your holiday in Thailand!

Till now the quarantine was up to 14 days (modified several times in the past months depending on the country and covid vaccination type!

Now it’s has been reduce to one 1 night to a specific ASQ Hotel in Bangkok and a PCR test on the arrival! After that if you are tested negative for Covid-Sars 2 we are free to go straight to Phuket and enjoy the most amazing beaches in the world!

You need to book a SHA Plus hotel for the first night

You need to book a hotel limousine to take you to the hotel or place of testing

You will be given a RT-PCR test

You must stay in your room the first night while waiting for your results

If your results are negative, you can then checkout in the morning and travel where you like

What is an SHA plus hotel?

SHA is a certificate given by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to hotels and services that meet pandemic-level safety and health standards. … Being a SHA+ hotel means more than 70 percent of the staff is fully vaccinated and that no unvaccinated staffers are allowed to have close contact with guests.

Whats the difference between SHA and SHA plus?

The ‘SHA’ logo certifies that venues and businesses have public health measures in place for COVID-19, while the ‘Plus’ sign confirms that more than 70% of employees in the organisation are fully vaccinated under the Bangkok vaccination programme.

Is alcohol allowed in ASQ hotels?

When you stay at the Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ), the Property will not be providing alcohol to your room. in addition to that, you will not be allowed to bring with you alcoholic beverages from Outside.

I recently stayed 15 nights as part of the ALQ program upon landing in Phuket. Reservation inquiries and communication with the Director of Sales, Khun Laila, was a breeze. Pre-arrival housekeeping requests were acceded to effortlessly.

The location is really good considering that many places are shut due to COVID. A few really nice restaurants are still open within walking distance and Kata beach is only a 10 minutes walk away. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean.

The breakfast had a wide variety of options and the food is great! Most importantly the service at the hotel is fantastic, everyone went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable (including organising a surprise birthday dinner). The personal friendliness and attention is exceptional too.

Have been to Thailand a couple of times and this is by far the best hotel. Quit situated but good access to the beach, shops and restaurants. Great rooms, pool access from the room, great breakfast, great restaurant and great staff.

We are very pleased with our stay and this could for sure be a hotel and area to return to in the future.

The Senses Resort is a 30-minute drive from Phuket Town. A 45-minute drive takes guests to Phuket International Airport.

Hotel is located in Patong area, with sea view. We stayed in 2 bedroom pool villa. Separated living space from 2 bedrooms. Bedroom is so spacious with high ceiling and big wondow. Clean. I love to sit next to infinity egde pool seeing patong bay. There is only 1 TV in the living room. Since bedroom is so spacious, better have sofa to make to room not so empty.

Better have more garbage bin in the room. Staffs are very friendly, kind, helpful, have serviced mind. Feel very impressed.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such warmth, the room was spacious and had a fantastic view! Air conditioning was excellent as it was always so hot outside which we loved anyway.

The bed was lovely and big! More on the harder side for a mattress but we always had a great sleep.

Bathroom – we had a nice big shower with a rain shower head.. So good! And good pressure.

Our room had breakfast included and we were more then happy with the variety of food on offer each day, was great to have the option of trying traditional Thai dishes as well as the usual western food.

There is a shuttle that the resort runs every couple of hours that takes you for free to the nearby jungceylon shopping mall or Patong beach and pick up from those stops back to the resort also.

They recommended booking at least an hour before the time you wish to leave to avoid any overbooking issues. If you are fairly fit, walking to and from the town is definitely enjoyable as you get to soak in all the culture.

Just note it is on a hill so it’s not an overly easy walk if you don’t walk often. Loads of good massage places through the streets just down from the resort also! We loved making the most of these.

There is also a great night market full of Thailand authentic street food 5 mins walk from the resort.. You can’t miss it! Definitely check this out if you want some tasty and cheap eats!

Very friendly staff, super comfy bed and right beside the beach. Three lovely pools and feels like you are surrounded by nature. Free breakfast was a bonus too. Lots of little food trucks outside to try local food.

Lovely and peaceful place to stay just 10 mins from Phuket airport.

Spacious modern rooms, a truly king size bed, wonderful and big territory with well kept tropical garden and 3 pools, delicious breakfast. Actually, it is the first line with a small road to cross, just 70 meters from the sea shore.

The infrastructure is great – lots of cafes, massage salons, bars, however, at night nothing bothers you to sleep.

The hotel team are friendful, professional and helpful, especially Sun at the reception. Me and my family, we highly recommend the hotel for a family stay.

This place is legit! I’ve traveled to all over the world not to brag but to let you know if you are traveling to Phuket this is your place!! Trust me get a pool view! The place is immaculate and that’s just the start of it!

Within hours the staff treat you like family. It is set amongst lush gardens with 2 beautifully maintained pools. The menu is extensive with Western food up for offer as well. The rooms and the balconies are spacious and the cleaning staff do a fantastic job. However, it is the staff overall that make this place a must stay. They cater to your every need and are the friendliest of any staff in Asia that I have come across.

Under the lead of the fantastic Manager, who also is very attentive ensuring your stay is special, the staff excel. With the Resort being only around 50 metres to Patong beach, this is the ideal location. Do yourselves a favour and when travelling to Patong, ensure you stay at this wonderful place.

This beautiful resort is sited in the middle of a lovely 8 kilometer long beach, Bang Tao, the prettiest in Phuket. With all the 5-star amenities you can imagine that are most graciously and effectively delivered by tons of Staff at your beck and call, you will wish that the Sandbox program still requires a two week stay, because you are going to want to spend a month or more here.

The rooms were all well appointed, spacious and the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and they set up a BBQ for us as well. The view to the golf course was beautiful and it was relaxing to either sit in our own sala or around our pool. The hospitality from the hotel employees was super friendly, warm and professional.

They were helpful in booking the complimentary shuttle van to take us to various areas in the Laguna. We were also give 6 bicycles complimentary which was fabulous. We cycled to the beach and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here for your next vacation in Phuket.
