The Airport Transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport
Bear in mind that it is not a private transfer. It’s a shared transfer with a 9 seater car. Last 2 times I have been accommodated at Thong Ta Resort and used the shuttle service up 10 person and if people have more than 2 luggages prepare to have a crumble journey. The good thing is that the ride to the hotel is a short one; but usually after a long flight we feel like we need more space for yourself.
The meeting point is on the 2nd level of Suvarnabhumi; the hotel boarding name is along with other 100 hotels so you have to check carefully for it; to be honest the arrival & clients pick up is a bit of chaos at Suvarnabhumi compared to other airports as Yangon or Hanoi for example.
This time I had to wait 20 minutes till the shuttle arrive.
The cons of the share shuttle transfer
- Waiting time – from 5 minutes to 30min. Depending on your luck mostly. Shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes so if you had arrived 5 min after the bus left you have to wait 25 minutes more
- Space – both for you and the luggages
- Departure time from your hotel is fixed every 30min s0 if you wake up a bit late you have to wait another 30min and this can lead to your flight being missed.

Location
Thong Ta Resort is located 10min drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport and can be reached either by taxi or the free shuttle provided by the hotel. It is located on a quite ally around 20m from the main road. This is a good thing because there is no noise coming from the cars; the only noise can come from the planes but only early in the morning.
The hotel is located to a few bars and restaurants and even a small food court with excellent thai food. A 7-eleven store is close by as well. There are no malls close by but since you came here only for a night, how cares?
Rooms
There are 2 mail buildings so if you want to have better rooms you can ask when making the booking to be placed in the new building. I was accommodated in the old building. There are no elevators and this time I got a room on 4th floor and my luggages weight around 30kg! But luckily there are stuff who can help you with it!
The rooms are OK – a bit old but has good facilities as coffee, water heater or sleepers. Rooms are quite big; compared with the Tune Hotels I stayed in Kuala Lumpur Airport, the difference is huge!
Beds – this was a big disappointment – – the mattress was in a horrible state – it was impossible to sleep on the edges and with big waves; I was afraid not to fall down if I come closer to the edge.
Shower Room
There were not to many amenities – no soap and only one shower gel even if I was with my girlfriend. The curtain between shower and the toilet was quite old and a bit dirty. Water did not have too much pressure and it was not very hot. But not very cold either and you can take the shower – Thailand is hot and humid so it’s better a cold shower!
Hotel Amenties
Breakfast is not included but hotel has restaurant where I suppose you can have it but you have to pay extra. Hotel has a SPA facility as well but did not try it; it looked a bit abandoned to me.
Decorations
There are some cute decoration on the hotel walls and outside as well; nice for some photos!

Nate from Laos: I have stayed at and reviewed this hotel several times. The best feature of this hotel is the quick round trip shuttle to the airport. The rooms are comfortable. There is excellent wifi availabke throughout the resort. Check in and check out is usually quick and easy. TV service is pathetic and the breakfast is hardly edible, but this is not a holiday destination. It is simply a place to rest during travels. My biggest complaint and this has happened in all my rooms, is the way the bathroom floor floods when using the shower. I put the curtain inside the tub, pay attention to the direstion if the shower head and try to be careful but the floor always floods. Other than that no complaints. Well, the inconciderate guests who dapart at 3:00 am and decide to slam doors and yell up and down the hall. Not the hotel’s fault
We booked two rooms for two nights for my family (7 persons). The staff was very helpful and I was impressed about the rooms comparing to the price I`ve paid, bht 1.100 pr. room pr. night.. Everything seemed clean, comfortable beds, rooms ok, a small verandah where I could smoke. We wanted to go to the ancient city and the zoo. The hotel car drove us. For 6-7 hours of driving and waiting we paid bht 2000, what I think was a reasonable price. Breakfast ordinary, international and thai, some fruit. Free transport with commuter to Suvarnabhumi. All in all I was very satisfied with the hotel.
Ambugs – Bad experience
If you landed late night (after 12AM) in Bangkok and are planning to check in to this hotel, the only option you have is to pay the double price. The guy at the reception was rude enough to tell me to check in after 11am in the morning if I plan to book the room online for half the price quoted by him. They do not pick calls and when you reach hotel to book the room in person they take advantage of your situation.
– Checked in only to find a dirty bathroom. Had to get it cleaned.
– Breakfast has fried egg, toast, butter, juice and coffee.
– They have a van which transfers people to airport every thirty minutes. I had to figure this out as nobody cared to explain this at the reception though they speak good English.
– I’m pretty sure the management doesn’t pay the staff (especially the folks in reception) here. Hence the grumpy attitude.
