Overall, the hotel is a nice and comfortable place to stay for a solo traveler or friends on leisure or business. Reasonable cost too. There was no view from my room, the windows opened a very tiny bit and looked bang onto another building.

The rooms are large with a very comfortable king size bed, a sofa and desk. The large bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. There was always hot water. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room and efficient air-con.
The rooms was well appointed and very clean.
The daily breakfast was freshly served and 5 star worthy with a great mixture of western and Eastern food. The price is very affordable for the amount of luxury benefits and very good location being around the corner from Mumbai Central railway station and bus terminal and shopping center being across the road.
Hotel is very comfortable and cosy. Excellent location and easy access to Mumbai Central station. just off the main road so away from the hustle and bustle of the street.
Really nice hotel, clean, very friendly and welcoming staff. Concierges very helpful with arranging taxis, giving directions, even posting postcards! Breakfast and restaurant staff helpful. Location is Mumbai Central which is not near the more touristy areas like the Gateway of India or the Taj Mahal Hotel or the westernised shopping centres, but it’s a great location to see the ‘real’ Mumbai and wander around the local streets, and you can walk South or North as needed, or the train station is 5 mins away. Highly recommend, and reasonably priced.
Rooms are comfortable and neat. A little small for bigger sized individuals especially the toilet and shower so make sure you request a bigger room selection if you are bigger sized. I personally did not like breakfast it’s not so continental serving more local dishes.

The Heritage Wing is like a museum. The interior architecture is beautiful, and throughout the hallways are museum-quality artifacts. To access the upper floors of the Heritage Wing, you need to have a room in the Heritage Wing. Also, guests in the Heritage Wing who add breakfast to their reservation may have breakfast in the Sea Lounge, which has beautiful view of the sea. If you stay in the Tower, you can view the first floor of the Heritage Wing, but that’s it, and you’ll miss seeing most of its beauty. If you book a room in the Tower, perhaps try to book at least one night in the Heritage Wing so that you can enjoy all that it has to offer.
Rooms: Perfect.
Heritage walk: There is a 45 min heritage walk at around 330pm on weekends. Check with the reception desk and register for this. It is free for residents.
This 45min walk sums up why the Taj is a family and not just a hotel. It was a wonderful experience. Cyberica from guest relations did a fab job to detail out everything during the walk
Food: The breakfast spread is amazing and the staff very warm. If you are staying here on a weekend, suggest you go early for breakfast since the restaurant tends to get a bit crowded
The Taj is a wonderful experience and the staff does more than their best to ensure that you have an unforgettable one.
The lobby is huge and full of guests, which gave a nice warm feeling when I arrived. The staff is prompt, kind, sophisticated and highly professional. My room was a basic one, but it was in alignment with the historic Gateway of India and had a balcony too. The mini bar was loaded and all the other amenities in the room were perfect and in place. The room was comfy and practical and the bathroom was decent (no tub), plus 1 for lovely Forest Essentials bath products.

The hotel has a high energy lounge bar called Wink.
Location – you’re in the heart of South Bombay. Colaba Causeway – walking distance. We actually walked there. Marine Drive – 3 km by taxi, Airport – 30 mins in good traffic, 1 1/2 hours in peak traffic. Great location.
Room – We got a great room on the 17th floor with an awesome view. Could see all the ships in the Harbour. It was quite spacious. We took two rooms, but the room was large enough to accommodate an extra bed and we could’ve avoided booking the second room.
Room Services – immaculate. We didn’t have to call for anything. It was all there!! Housekeeping was amazing. Very efficient, very cordial. Things in the room were very well organized. I normally find the Engineering dept lacking in most hotels, but not here.
Breakfast – in Trattoria. A very varied fare, be it Indian, South Indian or Continental. Food is fresh and sumptuous! I loved the bacon, though what was in the spread was cold and tough, so I asked for freshly fried bacon. And it came!! Everything was piping hot. The breakfast restaurant staff are forever helpful, things are served speedily. And they don’t forget what you asked for.
Health Services – they have an excellent gym with all the stuff to reduce those calories and I saw at least six people there at 6 am in the morning burning themselves out!! But I’m a pool guy and had a great swim – 70 lengths each morning, all by myself. The pool was really clean and I had a great time there. All by myself!!
Courtesy. Taj Hotels all over renowned for their courtesy. I’ve experienced ten properties so far over the past decade and the President is no different. The staff is very polite and very helpful.

A modern deluxe hotel, located on the southern tip of the Mumbai peninsula. We enjoyed the outdoor swimming pool and the lounge area that offers a fantastic view of the Arabian Sea, sunset and the “Queen’s Necklace”. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a shopping arcade next to the hotel as well as a beautiful promenade across the street where we had a delightful morning walk. There are a good amount of restaurants along Marine Drive.
Well situated on Marine Drive, looking across the bay to the buildings of the Malabar Hills, this hotel is the epitome of luxury. For us, it was our introduction to India, which could not have been better. It is close to the many of the sights of historic Mumbai and security is excellent. We tried four restaurants and they all provided a wide variety of Indian and western choices, from breakfast to dinner. Our Junior Suite was spacious with a beautiful view across the bay

From the time you enter the hotel to the quality of housekeeping; food and beverage; the amazing bar at The Oberoi with spectacular sunsets as a backdrop; the setting and ambiance (the hotel wraps the “Queen’s Necklace – known as Marine Drive – around its anklets!); this art deco Eau bar has an amazing range of nibbles and tipples and ever smiling hostesses and these 2 night there were complemented by the the amazing Lorissa Coelho on vocals and keyboards – India’s Diana Krall!
