The hotel is not luxurious, but it has heart and charm and it’s good value for money, so it’s a great option for someone visiting the beautiful town of Alberobello.

Breakfast was lovely – a lot of sweet cakes, but yoghurt, fresh fruit, croissants, bread rolls, ham and cheese also. They do dinner a few nights which you can opt for.

This hotel had the best bed(wish I could have taken it with us)and the best breakfast of our holiday. A real bargain, easy walking distance from the station and indeed everywhere else great people working there coffee to take the enamel off your teeth(this is a Good thing) clean and nice smellies for the shower. What more can you ask for?

The whole establishment is spotlessly clean and the charming Italian decor adds a very homely feel to the place. Even the Mona Lisa has a place here at the entrance. The neighbourhood is quiet and only 10 minutes walking to the Trullis. Free wifi works well and free parking on a quiet street.

Hotel Sierra Silvana
Hotel Sierra Silvana

Hotel Sierra Silvana is set in the green hills of Selva di Fasano, 12 km from the famous Trulli of Alberobello. Each room has a private garden or balcony.

Rooms at Sierra Silvana feature air conditioning and satellite TV and are set in 5 buildings, scattered around the Mediterranean garden. Here you will find a swimming pool and 4 Trulli, the stone houses common to this area.

The hotel has a private beach 15 minutes’ drive away, where sun loungers and umbrellas are free for guests choosing the half board or full board option.

Situated on the green hills of Selva di Fasano in the territory of the trulli and the Itria-Valley, in the centre of the 3 provinces Bari, Brindisi and Taranto, the 4 star resort Sierra Silvana is imbedded in a green oasis of rest, ideal for small and great events. It disposes of 127 rooms, 10 of them superior, all with plenty of light and fitted with balcony or terrace, distributed to 5 buildings, imbedded in a wonderful Mediterranean garden, where you can find as well 7 trulli.

Each of the pleasant furnished rooms is fitted with bathtub, hairdryer, telephone, minibar, air conditioning, TV LED, Wi-Fi. In the main building you find the vast hall, furnished with comfortable willow sofas; the bordering bar with great windows opens a view to the splendid swimming pool. In the elegant restaurant you can enjoy dishes of highest quality, created by a accurately selected team of staff, who were vice-champions of the world at the „Culinary World Cup“ 2006.

The location is ideal for visiting the delightful towns and beautiful countryside of Puglia.

It’s the perfect base to explore the area with so many sites and the people are so friendly. We explored many of the beaches on the coast and all were fantastic, as was Lecce and Otranto.

In the hills of Selva di Fasano, half an hour of the first town. The middle part of Puglia: Bari, Castel del Monte, Alberobello, Ostuni, Lecce, even Matera is within a day’s ride.
Good quiet room in the second building in a lovely garden.

The hotel is only a short drive to the beautiful coast; egnazia; the inland towns of Locorotondo, Cisternino, Alberobello, Ostuni, Martina Franca and other beautiful historic towns. It is also close to Zoo Safari and Grotte di Castellana.

The hotel’s breakfast is excellent, offering a wide choice of fruit, cereal, eggs, toast, croissants, pastries, cheese, meats, juices, whatever your preference you won’t be disappointed.

Sierra Silvana is situated in the hills above Fasano in a quiet residential area, there’s lots of country lanes offering pleasant walks, and a few minutes walk from the hotel is a local bar.

The beds are a good size and comfortable, bathrooms spotless and have both bath and shower, rooms have a fridge and balcony, the wardrobes are a more than adequate size and have plenty of coat hangers.

The food in the restaurant is just lovely. All fresh. There’s a daily menu reflecting the food choices in the local area. A selection of meats from the Itrian Valley for instance or four local cheeses with crudites. There’s also a different fish course choice daily and the baked sea bass was great! Breakfast is plentiful and would please anyone I think, cereals, cake, muffins, croissants, fruit, bread, cheese, meat, yogurt or even scrambled eggs and bacon.

Locally, Alberobello, the village of the Trulli houses was magical. Like a village for gnomes or elves, very quaint. This village was very busy as it’s a popular tourist attraction so I’d get there early before the coaches, at midday in between coaches or early evening!

Although apparently isolated from any nearby urban facilities there is a smart residential area of high quality houses, with big leafy gardens and enough shops and other facilities – like a Farmacia and a church, built to look like an oversized Trullo (of course!!) – Even some of the outbuildings and garages attached to the outlying residences in the locality of the Sierra Silvana had little conical stone mini-trulli added to convey the feeling of age. In this part of Italy they have Trulli where other more benighted places have garden gnomes.

But then what are we all going to Apulia for if not for the amazing architecture of the area? This hotel is well placed to visit such places as Lecce and Otranto and the interesting coastal dunes and salt marshes . we were their three days one needs much longer to fully appreciate the diversity of the area. And there are some people who might even never stray far from the hotel itself it is so peaceful.

Travel to nearby Lecce with its Baroque architecture and discover other seaside resorts such as S. Maria di Leuca and Otranto. Let this 3-star hotel provide you with an excellent location for a seaside holiday. Hotel Miramare is open year-round, so you can enjoy the mild climate of the Salento region and the beauty of both Adriatic and Ionian Seas.

The views and the Jacuzzi were definitely the highlight of the room, something taken straight from an hotel of a much higher category (and price), unforgettable. The room itself was clean and the furniture pretty new.

Hotel is very confortabile , in good position , two hundred meters to the sea side , out of the folks . Our room , the sea view with balcony, spacious with air conditioning, great kitchen and very friendly staff .. no problem for parking and if necessary taxi shuttles to the resorts. Twenty minutes to Gallipoli, Nardò and 45 mn to Lecce and Santa Maria di Leuca.

The hotel is actually about a 15 minute drive to Gallipoli Storio Centro, but is located in a nice area (Conchiglie Alto Lido). The hotel is modern, clean and comfortable, located on a quiet street. Our room was on a lower floor, but with a balcony and a (somewhat obstructed) view of the sea. We found easy parking on the street right in front of the hotel and the hotel also has a locked lot in which one can park. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even though there was, at times, a bit of a language barrier, as we don’t know too much Italian.

The whole visit to Gallipoli was one of the highlights of our “road trip” around Italy. We also enjoyed the little market and panetteria located just down the hill from the hotel and near the hotel’s private beach.

The rooms are large and they’d provided a cot for our young son free of charge. The breakfasts are amazing; fresh fruit and baking including cakes and tarts along with the more traditional breakfast fare.

4. Malù Bed&Breakfast 3* – Gay Friendly Hotels Polignano a Mare

Malù Bed&Breakfast
Malù Bed&Breakfast

Malù Bed and Breakfast is set in Polignano A Mare, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. It offers a central location and rooms with panoramic sea views.

Set 50 m from the rocky beach, Malù has modern rooms with air conditioning and a balcony offering views over the sea and the Polignano coast.

The bed and breakfast is a 2-minute drive from the SS16 state road. Bari is a 30-minute drive away. In a few minutes by car, you can reach other interesting places such as Conversano and Castellana Grotte.

The Malu Bed & Breakfast is a wonderful structure overlooking the sea, built in the most beautiful point of Polignano a mare (the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, one of the most famous Italian singer, whose statue has been located just 20 metres far from our B & B ). The sea, near our structure, on which our rooms overlook, has been awarded with the Blue Flag and the 4 Sails of Legambiente. The family management of the Malu assures an incommensurable choice of culinary deliciousness in the continental breakfast that we offer to our appreciated guests.

We use to propose to our client every morning too many homemade cakes, sweets, every kind of juices, jams, yogurt, quiches, fresh fruit and much more. The guideline of our team is make unforgettable the stay of our guest, combining radiance and kindness, with a charming and romantic location, a stunning view on sea and sunsets and an enchanting landscape. All our rooms, located just 30 metres from the beach, are modern, with air conditioning and with balcony, someone with panoramic sea view and someone inside.

Very clean place, conveniently located right next to all the cool beaches. The best thing about the whole B&B is the terrace on their 3rd floor, which most of the time was completely empty.

The room was light, clean and airy, with plenty of space both in the room and the bathroom.
Breakfast was lovely – selection of ham and cheese and then cakes, tarts and other pastries! Breakfast was served on the roof terrace, which has stunning views over the coastline – a real treat.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Location was brilliant – overlooking the sea but only a short walk to the old town, with all its narrow alleys, fantastic viewpoints, bars and restaurants to explore.

Malu B&B is a very nice and charming accommodation located with a beautiful view over the Adriatic sea and just 5 minutes slow walk to the old town area in Polignano a Mare.

The B&B is set just off the seafront in a good position for exploring. The rooms are simple, even basic, but very clean and quite adequate. The breakfast area is on a balcony with a great sea view.

Our room was comfortable and clean with linens and towels changed regularly although we would have liked some drawer space and more hangers. Wonderful buffet breakfasts on the upper outside terrace with cereals, hams, cheeses, fresh figs, grapes, peaches, apples, pears, kiwi fruits, selection of teas and coffees served at table and a large selection of mama’s cakes (different every day).

Hotel monte sarago,a new four star hotel opened in june 2010 rise in the commercial heart of ostuni, just few minutes from the famous old town best known as th “white city”.Its peculiar location makes the hotel ideal for both the businessman to spend a holiday and relax. The hotel has 40 rooms including standard, superior, junior suites, suite spa all furnished with refined materials where the modern technology is well mixed with the warmth of the typically mediterranean style.

The hotel is well situated and is a short walk from the beautiful old town of Ostuni. The hotel itself is lovely and our room was well appointed, with a great view of the old town, as well as being immaculate.

Lovely modern hotel in a convenient location . The hotel is situated on a roadway leading to the town with its own private car park opposite. The car park is a real benefit in this town as an unscheduled drive through the narrow streets showed us. The old town is an easy walk ( up and downhill) from the hotel. The rooms are bright and clean some having been recently renovated. There is a nice lounge/ bar area and a terrace for aperitivo with amazing views over Ostuni . There is a restaurant and the breakfast boasted a superb choice . The staff was friendly, competent and multilingual.

Super breakfast with loads of choice, especially enjoyed the huge array of fresh fruit, pomegranate, melon, etc. Our room was clearly recently updated, very clean and modern and the bed was really comfy.

We rented an apartment next to the pool, some 100 steps above ground level. The view towards the old town from the apartment balcony was fantastic – what we saw at breakfast every morning. We got used to taking the car up and down the one in four ascent. Access onto the road helped by the mirror opposite the entrance. Hotel staff were very helpful and provided great practice for my improving Italian. We wanted to visit Puglia and both the hotel and the town were perfect for this purpose. Easy road and rail links to other places in this beautiful part of Italy.
