Islam is the largest religion in Turkey according to the state, with 99.8 % of the population being initially registered by the state as Muslim, for anyone whose parents are not of any other officially recognised religion and the remaining 0.2% are Christians or adherents of other officially recognised religions
By Crescent Rating, Turkey is 3rd rated among most Muslim-friendly countries.
How many mosques are there in Antalya?
Turkey has 82,693 mosques, the most of which are in the country’s largest city, Istanbul, according to Religious Affairs Directorate data. Istanbul has 3,113 mosques, including the historical Sultanahmet Mosque and the Süleymaniye Mosque.
The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in Antalya do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Best Day Tours in Antalya for Muslim Travelers

Antalya is a Turkish resort city with a yacht-filled Old Harbor and beaches flanked by large hotels. It’s a gateway to Turkey’s southern Mediterranean region, known as the Turquoise Coast for its blue waters. Remnants remain from Antalya’s time as a major Roman port. These include Hadrian’s Gate, built to honor the Roman emperor’s visit in 130 A.D and 2nd-century Hidirlik Tower, with harbor views.

An excellent hotel. Everything is made perfect for the tourist. The rooms were always clean, the towels, the linens were changed everyday. The food is varied, delicious and tasty. The restaurant personnel was great. Thanks to Elena Kuslar who served us in the restaurant.

The beach with soft sand was amazing just like the pools inside hotel area. There were entertainment places especially for kids and adults.

The reception staff was nice and informative, got the room at once – a beautiful one with gorgeous sea view , a plate with fruits and a bottle of wine waiting.

The hotel area was huge with 7-8 pools, although the water was pretty cold… and a big beach. In the restaurant there was this 16+ place, quiet and nice though always crowded, so it could have been a little bigger.

The food was good, with a lot of different dishes, the staff very nice.

The hotel is very well maintained with excellent facilities, attention to detail and little extra touches make it stand out from the norm. Lovely room with a massive comfortable bed, sea view and!

The food was plentiful with an overwhelming amount of choice with different themed buffet nights. Getting a sunbed was a bit of an issue. Generally, we found all the staff really happy, friendly and helpful.

I will definately be returning here with my family. My mother who was on her first ever holiday loved it. They cater Halal food and everything is just wow. Nothing to pick on. Entertainment is next to nothing its brilliant. The rooms and the workers are just so clean and very helpful every single staff was brilliant.
They just make you fall in love with the country more by making your stay amazing. The facilities was great the range of food was excellent.

I can say I left my heart there it was just too beautiful. Perfect for family holiday, caters for the young, teenage and adults, elders. They have loads of services included in there all inclusive package where you have loads of spa facilities included which is great.

No bacon for breakfast as Muslim country but you could have fried and boiled eggs, beef sausages, pancakes and cereals and for the adventurous salad and soup.

. The food is delicious but please don’t expect classic British favourites as this is a Muslim country (no bacon!) – Turkish food is absolutely delicious!

The pastiserie is fantastic, great teas and coffee.

The hotel is SUPER clean and smells amazing!

The SPA is top notch and the Turkish bath are fantastic but if you have time try to book a Turkish bath as one of your excursion as it end up to be cheaper.

We went all inclusive so we had free mini bar, the usual complimentary toiletries, free robe & slippers, access to the sauna, ice room, bowling facilities, complimentary beach towels. There are also numerous shops & hairdresser on site, plus an excellent patisserie just off the main lobby for those tempting snacks between meals. We had memory foam beds with duvets which were very comfortable indeed.

The only problem we encountered was that the TV in the room only had two English speaking channels & they were BBC news & SKY news; also, the shops in the hotel only stock Turkish or German magazines & newspapers but no books.

The restaurant was top notch, but please don’t expect the usual Brit favourite of full English breakfast as this is a Muslim country, on saying that, there is everything else you could wish for & more to eat, all cooked to very high standards.

Meals and drinks are served in multiple restaurants and bars, including a buffet-style eatery and a disco. Amenities include sports courts, 8 pools, and a private area on the beach, plus a gym, a refined spa and a kids’ club.

The staff were always very friendly and tried to do everything for us. Nothing was ever an issue despite not always understanding our request. Drinks service around the pool area was especially good and staff always made us laugh.

The buffet restaurant always had a good selection for breakfast and dinner and was fresh and tasty. Masks worn by guests and staff also making us feel safe here.

Our favorite restaurant for dinner was the Italian and the beachside setting in the evening was perfect.

We used the pool every day and was able to get sunbeds easily. Our boys also used the splash park. The Rixy baby service was also very good for their afternoon naps in the sleep room and the staff there were warm and welcoming.

We each had a standard sea view room and it was the only aspect of our holiday that could have been better. The room was small, a little dated and not up to the same level of furnishing as the hotel. After seeing photos of the deluxe rooms I would recommend paying the extra if you like to spend more time in your room.

This was our first holiday to Turkey and we would definitely consider returning here.

The hotel has a nice setting, right on a very clean secluded beach with pine trees/planting through the grounds. The main hotel surrounds a pool which we never used as the sea was so nice. The animation was reasonably laid back, not too intense. At the back of the property is situated an amazing kids club, with football pitch, tennis courts, a climbing assault course, climbing wall and two water parks, one for smaller children and one for teens/adults (each having 6 or 7 slides) – this was the highlight of our kids stay (9 and 15 years of age).

Near the beach there was a shaded keep fit area that hosted various flexibility, resistance and cardio classes through the day – this was one of the highlights for the adults.

We usually finished our afternoon by visiting the Turkish hammam, which was free of charge and was very nice. We would have taken some treatments but felt they were overpriced.

The main buffet restaurant was pretty large and crowded but had a nice outdoor seating area near the beachfront where we generally sat.

We couldn’t fault the food choice and quality. Special mention goes to the outdoor BBQ area which served consistently good meats and fish every night. Service (for drinks) was a bit slow, with the exception of the waiter in our regular area outside (name sounded something like Sheamus) who was excellent and deserves a special mention.

5. Royal Holiday Palace 5* – Halal Hotels Antalya Turkey

Located by Antalya’s Lara Beach, this 5-star luxury resort is built on an area of 53.000 m2 of landscaped grounds. It features a spa, outdoor pools with water slides, and a funfair.

The richly decorated rooms at Royal Holiday Palace combine modern amenities with traditional touches. All rooms have free WiFi, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a minibar, and tea and coffee making facilities.

Royal Holiday Palace offers many dining options, including Italian, Mexican and fish restaurants. The patisserie serves a selection of traditional Turkish pastry. Guests can enjoy tropical cocktails and snacks at the pool bar.

On a sprawling property beside a beach on the Mediterranean Sea, this posh resort in a palatial building is 15 km from Antalya Airport and 21 km from central Antalya.

Warmly furnished rooms feature flat-screen TVs, plus minibars, tea and coffeemakers, and safes. Some have sea views and/or 2nd levels. Suites, some with kitchens, add separate living rooms and whirlpool tubs.

There are 7 restaurants serving local and international cuisine, as well as 9 bars, indoor and outdoor pools (1 with waterslides), and a kids’ club. A spa with a sauna, a steam room and a hammam offers massages and beauty treatments.

The room came with 2 beds, a double and a single, which was perfect for us as a party of three. There was ample space for another rollaway bed, so would also work for parties of 4. The room had a desk area, a mini-bar which was included in the package and had lots of water, juice, and some beer. The room also had a balcony with chairs and a small table, and a really nice feature — a drying rack for swim suits. The bathroom had a toilet, sink area, and a glass enclosed tub with shower. Ample toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) were included.

The hotel suggested not to drink the tap water, so we chose to brush our teeth using bottled water (which was amply provided). The closet space was good for all of our clothing, and the safe comfortably held our valuables. The TV wasn’t great for English speakers — just 2 new stations.

The meal program was great. The main restaurant, on the level below the lobby, served a buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food variety, quality, and quantity were all outstanding and would suit a broad range of tastes and diets. This is one of the better all-you-can-eat services we have experienced, anywhere, with no sacrifice in quality.

We particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit bar, where we ate vast quantities of watermelon and cherries. Dinner was also a great affair, so much so that we skipped the offer to ‘upgrade’ to a restaurant on one night and stuck with the buffet.

Despite being a large hotel, there was ample space in the pool and we never had issues finding lounge chairs, albeit near the back of the pool if we went outdoors late in the morning. It was interesting to see a mix of people in the pool, including topless women and women in Muslim bathing suits and everything in between — definitely a diverse crowd. The pool was mostly a consistent depth, where adults could stand comfortably but was too deep for children.

There was a gradual entrance at one end for kids, and two separate ‘kiddie pools’ on the side, one with several kid friendly water slides which our child enjoyed. There was also an adult water slide section, which was great.

As for location, the Lara Beach area is filled with similar, large sized hotels and some small shopping plazas. The area is separate from the historic downtown. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel for 5 Euros which ran twice a day.
