The Aachen Christmas Market 2021 known as Aachen Weihnachtsmarkt is a magical place that comes to life in the heart of Aachen, a few weeks before Christmas.
This year the market runs between 19th November 2023 to 23rd December 2023. The Aachen Christmas Market is located on Rathaus, Aachen old town.

Aachen is a spa city near Germany’s borders with Belgium and the Netherlands. Aachen Cathedral was founded around 800 A.D. and a Gothic chancel was added later. Its Domschatzkammer (treasury) has medieval artifacts including the shrine of Charlemagne, who was buried here in 814 A.D. Nearby is the baroque town hall, Aachener Rathaus, with 19th-century frescoes. Sulfurous water fills the fountains of Elisenbrunnen.

I booked to stay for one night as we were visiting the Aachen Christmas market. I chose the hotel because of the location and proximity to the market. I was slightly wary after reading reviews of the hotel however, I had nothing to worry about.
We got a taxi to the hotel because we had heavy luggage however you can walk to the hotel, it takes about 15-20 minutes. A taxi from Aachen HBF was only 8 euros.
The hotel is quite disguised from the outside but we found it ok. We buzzed the door and we were let in. You have to walk up some stairs to get to reception but then there is a lift from reception to the rooms. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
We went up to our room on the fourth floor. You do have to walk over an outdoor balcony to get to the rooms but it was fine. Our room was lovely and cosy. It was clean and tidy and we were very happy with it. The hotel is a two minute walk to the shops and the Christmas market. A great location!
The breakfast was very yummy and there was lots of choice. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, it really made our stay special.
I would highly recommend this hotel. We had a great night’s sleep, a wonderful breakfast and a great stay.

2. Hotel 3 Könige 3* – Hotels Near Aachen Christmas Market
This privately-run hotel is located on the main square in Aachen, directly beside Aachen Cathedral and Aachen City Hall. Wi-Fi is free in all parts of the Hotel 3 Könige.
The rooms, suites and apartments at the Hotel 3 Könige are bright and attractively furnished. All rooms have satellite flat-screen TVs and a private bathroom.
A breakfast buffet is provided each morning in the Hotel 3 Könige.
Set in the city center, this down-to-earth, family-run hotel is a 3-minute walk from Aachen Cathedral and 3 km from the zoo at Aachener Tierpark.
The relaxed, warm rooms come with flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi. Suites add sitting areas. Children age 5 and under stay at no extra cost with an adult.
A breakfast buffet is available. Pets are welcome.
I was quite surprised with the spacious room and bathroom in this very old hotel in the Old Town. Breakfast was adequate but acceptable to European standards. The life is very small and slow and best carrying your bags unless you really need to.
The location is great as its close to the Christmas markets and shops etc, so ideal. The front desk were really helpful and went out of their way to make my stay hospitable.
Hotel was centrally located. We were greeted warmly by the owner. The rooms were very big and spacious and clean.
The food downstairs was lovely. I would recommend for anyone travelling to the Christmas Markets.

Stayed here two nights, hotel is clean, friendly and in a great place for the centre of town.
We walked to a couple of decent restaurants and the cathedral was right next to the hotel, plus the Christmas market was open nearby, which was great.

It’s a terrific location, especially if you intend to walk around the Christmas Market. Within the old town it couldn’t be handier. Good attentive staff. Good value for money rooms, and a terrific breakfast!
