1. Althoff Hotel am Schlossgarten 5* – Hotels Near Stuttgart Christmas Market

This 5-star hotel is located at the Schlossgarten Park in central Stuttgart, 100 m from Stuttgart Central Station. It includes 2 excellent restaurants, a rich breakfast buffet each morning, and a spacious terrace.

All of the air-conditioned rooms at the Hotel am Schlossgarten feature soundproofed windows, free WiFi, and a modern bathroom. Many offer scenic views of the surrounding gardens and vineyards.

The gourmet restaurant Die Zirbelstube offers Michelin-star, creative cuisine with regional influences. Typical regional dishes from the Baden and Alsace area can be enjoyed in the restaurant Weinwirtschaft | Weingut Franz Keller.

Overlooking a palace garden, this posh hotel is 7-minutes’ walk from lively Schlossplatz square and 8 minutes’ stroll from the renowned Otto Dix collection at Kunstmuseum Stuttgart.

Offering free Wi-Fi, the elegant rooms have soundproof windows, flat-screen TVs and minibars, as well as park views; some also feature sitting areas with sofas. Suites add living rooms and 2 TVs, plus city-view balconies, saunas and whirlpool tubs.

There’s a French restaurant, a bistro/wine bar, an American-style cocktail lounge and a chic coffeehouse. Breakfast and afternoon tea are available for a fee. Valet parking is offered.

Although this hotel is across the street from the train station, you would never known it.

It is very quiet. And with its location, it is very convenient to the Christmas Market – exit left from the hotel and take the next left onto the major street which leads you to the markets ( most of which ar past the Neues Schloss and Altes Schloss to Marktplatz).

THe hotel has a very (and I mean very) friendly staff. On every encounter with the front desk, I was met with a smile and the answer to all my questions.

The bar staff is equally pleasant and helpful. I found the staff at the hotel to speak better English than some I have encountered in the US.

The room was comfortable with plenty of space (I was a solo traveler).

It was clean and housekeeping made sure of it every day. The bathroom was clean and tidy – small by US standards, but very adequate for my stay and larger than some other hotels in which I have stayed in Europe.

The Christmas market in Stuttgart was huge! It also had a children section with rides. I liked it much better than Munich’s.

We also went to the mid evil one in Essingen which was quaint. We ate at The Kleine Traube. I highly recommend this traditional adorable German restaurant.

The Baroque Christmas market in ludwigsburg was fabulous!

We were able to enjoy the market in the afternoon as well as at night. (The best Gluhwein!) The hotel was also very close to the train station that we used it to get to the airport, the Mercedes Museum and the Esslingen Christmas Market.

We stayed in a Deluxe room this time which is very large, with big bed and lounge area. Bed very comfortable. Coffee machine in room.

Music entertainment in bar in evenings which is a nice touch. Drinks in bar reasonably priced.

We didn’t have breakfast as believe this is very overpriced but plenty of cafes around local area.

Location is perfect for Christmas Markets.

Will always stay here when returning.

2. Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin 5* – Hotels Near Stuttgart Christmas Market

This luxury hotel is situated in the centre of Stuttgart, directly opposite Stuttgart Central Station. The Königstraße shopping street, the National Gallery Stuttgart, the Castle Square and various other city sights are all within walking distance of Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin. It offers a gourmet restaurant, a rooftop spa , free WiFi and soundproofed rooms with a flat-screen TV.

The modern rooms and suites come with a seating area, desk, and stylish bathroom. A free bottle of water is provided.

The spacious spa area, which is 500 m² in size, features a sauna, a steam bath and a fitness room. Guests can also book massages and beauty treatments.

Across the street from Stuttgart Central Station, this upscale hotel with a modern stone facade is a 9-minute walk from Schlossplatz and 10 km from the Porsche Museum.

Traditional rooms with plush decor feature free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus minibars and safes. Suites add Nespresso machines; 1 has a kitchenette, a separate dining room, a conference room and a whirlpool tub.

An acclaimed restaurant serves upscale Swabian dishes in a chic dining room, and an intimate eatery offers seasonal open-air dining. A breakfast buffet is available for a fee.

We enjoyed this hotel for its quiet rooms and proximity to the Christmas market and downtown tourist offerings.

The staff – from front desk to maids and bartenders – were all about smiling service.

The rooms were comfortable, but a little small. Bathrooms were immaculate with nice showers.

There’s a parking garage under the hotel and alot is within walking distance – although mass transit is across the street.

They offer a very good, but expensive breakfast buffet.

A wonderful hotel in a great location with the station just across it.

And the Christmas market just a few blocks away.

The room was spacious, wonderful toiletries and very clean. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Hotel was a great location, across the street from the train station. The staff was exceptional, friendly, helpful, provided great suggestions where to eat and directions to the market. Room was very nice and had plenty of room to store our luggage and not trip over them. Fantastic breakfast, the largest selection of food we found on our trip.

There was even fresh honey dripping from honeycombs by the breads (we were told there was a beehive on the roof that provided the honey).

Centrally located and an easy walk to the Christmas markets.

Nice location, pretty close to the Stuttgart Christmas Market and to the City Bus Tour (hop-on/hop-off) and directly across the street from the Central Train Station.

Nice bar in lobby. Elevators were pretty quick. Room was clean and quite spacious! Bathroom was like a spa! Double sinks, fantastic shower and very nice bath products. Flat screen TV (though not much English-speaking TV, other than Sports & News.

A “home” or “HGTV”-type channel would be nice. We really, however, didn’t watch much TV anyhow, we were out & about in nice Stuttgart!), pretty and good room-darkening window treatments. A very nice stay. We would stay again.

Just 200 m from Stuttgart Central Station, this hotel offers free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour bar and air-conditioned rooms. Schlossplatz Square and the palace gardens are a 5-minute walk away.

Opened in November 2011, the Motel One Stuttgart-Mitte features bright rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and a flat-screen TV. Each granite bathroom has a refreshing rain shower. Rooms are decorated in elegant dark brown and turquoise colours.

A breakfast buffet is available in the chic One Lounge each morning, and guests booking breakfast enjoy free Wi-Fi in their room.

A block from Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof train station, this modern, budget hotel in the city center is also a 7-minute walk from the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart art museum.

Just 5 mins walk from the central train station… you have to for S bahn from the central Station.

There’s an exit from the S bahn station direct to the hotel door step.
Very well equipped room. However a kettle is missing from the room.

Just 10 mins walk to the Christmas market.

Stayed her for the Christmas Markets and the location is ideal. Clean, smart and modern hotel with a spacious reception and bar.

The room is more than adequate, warm and with a modern compact shower room. This hotel could easily have scored 5 stars but for this I would be looking for slightly more variety with the breakfast.

Everything you want in a city break hotel.
Comfortable, quiet compact bedroom, very good shower.
Plentiful buffet breakfast with decent coffee.
Pleasant staff in the main.
Location is perfect if you want to travel around the Stuttgart region by public transport as the S Bahn escalator is right outside the hotels entrance.

We visited during the Christmas market which is excellent, along with those in Ludwigsburg, Esslingen and Tubingen.

Bad Cannstatt one stop on the S Bahn is also a pleasant area with very good restaurants.
Would definitely stay again.
