Boutiquehotel am Dom is located in the heart of Salzburg’s pedestrian area. The Residence Palace, the Festival Hall, Getreidegasse, the Hohensalzburg Fortress and all other sights are in the immediate vicinity.

Every morning, a breakfast buffet is served at the breakfast area in the hotel bar.

The modern rooms feature tasteful, Italian-style furniture, cable TV and air conditioning. The private bathrooms have hairdryers.

This refined hotel is a 3-minute walk from Salzburg Cathedral, an 11-minute walk from Mirabell Palace and a 12-minute walk from Fortress Hohensalzburg.

Relaxed rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and en suite bathrooms. Some have sitting areas, clawfoot tubs and/or exposed beams.

Breakfast is complimentary and served in a trendy dining room with vaulted ceilings and frescoes. There’s also a bar.

The location is great – right in the center of things in the old town. An easy 5 minute walk to catch bus transportation to/from the train station. Staff were friendly and helped us with directions and recommendations for restaurants and other attractions. The hotel has a modern contemporary feel and the room was spacious and clean with a really large bathroom and great shower. We had a room on the top floor, so no windows save for the skylights, but still very comfortable.

The breakfast selection was also nice and they prepared eggs and omelets for us each morning. I would recommend Am Dom for anyone looking for a nice place to stay while in Salzburg.

The hotel is just one minute on foot from the Christmas markets but it was very quiet (although we were woken one morning by the refuse collectors). We found the bed very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space for our clothes. We found the breakfast perfectly adequate for us with a reasonable amount of choice – particularly if you like eggs cooked in a variety of different ways. The staff were extremely helpful and approachable.

On a couple of evenings they made coffee for us when we returned at 9pm from outings. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will definitely stay here again when we next return to Salzburg.

Stayed for 2 nights for the Christmas Markets in December. The hotel is beautiful and so well located – it is literally minutes’ walk to the Christmas Markets of Salzburg in the heart of the town.

The room we had was large with a separate bathroom, behind the bed’s headboard. it was funkily furnished, very clean and very comfortable.

The hotel is very located on a pedestrian shopping street in the old town, and one of the Christmas markets is at the closer end of that street.

The room, reserved as a single, had a twin bed and a small sofa. The bed was a bit soft.

The room had a minibar, which I usually use to store my cold items, but it was so full of stuff that there was barely enough room there for a chunk of cheese. The bathroom decor was too glitzy for my taste, but it worked fine.

3. Hotel Elefant 4* – Hotels Near Salzburg Christmas Market

Set next to the Getreidegasse in the heart of Salzburg’s Old Town, the historic, fully renovated Hotel Elefant dating from the 13th century offers free WiFi.

All of the individually decorated rooms of Hotel Elefant provide a bathroom, cable TV, and a minibar, a bathroom. All rooms are air-conditioned, and some feature a comfortable seating area.

Mozart’s birthplace and the Festival Hall can be reached within a few steps from the Hotel Elefant. Mirabell Castle, the Hohensalzburg Fortress and the other side of the city centre are only 200 m away.

It was a comfortable stay at Hotel Elefant, and a very close walk to St Peter’s Church, Christmas Markets and even Mirabell Palace.

Located next to Christmas markets and Old Town square. Wonderful old property kept up and clean.

The location is perfect – right in the heart of old town Salzburg, yet no outside noise or disturbance. The Christmas Market, shopping, dining, and historic tourist sites were right at our fingertips. We were able to get around by foot during our whole stay, except for the taxi to and from the train station.

The hotel is located on a pedestrian road, but taxis have access to the road, so it is easy getting you and your luggage to and from the hotel. We will rebook at Hotel Elefant without hesitation if we are fortunate enough to return to Salzburg in the future.

We could easily walk to shops, restaurants, the castle and the Christmas Market. Very quaint and pretty. The staff was very friendly.

The room was very small as was the lobby and the elevator, but it had everything we needed.

They will watch your luggage in the lobby if you arrive early or need to leave it after check out time, and were very nice about it, but it is in the open in the small lobby.

My wife and I were here for two nights during a Christmas market vacation that also included Munich, Nuremberg, and Vienna. The hotel is small, and has character, and has a great location right between the main Christmas market and the main street. It’s literally around the corner from both.

We didn’t eat at the restaurant because we ate so much at the Christmas market, but the included breakfast was good. It included warm offerings, like bacon and eggs, as well as cheeses, pastries, juices, etc.

The room was big, and I think we did have the biggest room in the place, which included a living room, a bed, a desk area, and a good sized bathroom. There was no good view, but it was clean and safe, which is really all you want.
