Guide to Gay Friendly Hotels in Warsaw Poland (2024 Updated)

All up this means the Polish LGBTQ+ scene is fairly discrete. Warsaw and Kraków are the best places to find bars, clubs and gay friendly hotels Warsaw.

Warsaw is the sprawling capital of Poland. Its widely varied architecture reflects the city’s long, turbulent history, from Gothic churches and neoclassical palaces to Soviet-era blocks and modern skyscrapers. The city’s Old Town was restored after heavy damage during WWII. Its heart is Market Square, with pastel buildings and open-air cafes. The Monument of the Warsaw Mermaid at its center is the city’s symbol.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Poland face legal challenges not faced by non-LGBT residents. According to ILGA-Europe‘s 2020 report, the status of LGBTQ rights in Poland is the worst among European Union countries.

Both male and female same-sex sexual activity are legal in Poland.

Attitudes toward gays and lesbians are gradually evolving, and Warsaw even successfully hosted the international EuroPride festival in 2010. There are few gay friendly hotels Warsaw, mostly located in downtown area where few gay clubs are bars are situated.

The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the New Town square and another 5 to the Old Town Square but the walk was straightforward and helped us get to grips with the geography.

The building is fairly modern with bar and restaurant on ground floor. Staff are fairly friendly and do their best to communicate with foreigners as there always will be language gap.

The hotel is located well for both the city centre and Old Town although its worth noting there are no local bars or restaurants in the immediate area that are open at night.

Rooms are clean, modern and perfectly functional but it could have benefitted from tea/coffee making facilities and a better hairdryer. It has cosy and very clean rooms with splendid comfortable beds.

The bathroom is reasonably sized, too, with comfortable shower; unfortunately it only has a “hose on the wall” hair dryer, which does not really match the standard of the rest of the hotel.

Real plus is the fresh breakfast buffet with a ‘Polish touch’ (yummy).

Great location (it is placed almost on the only one historical street of Warsaw).
