Secluded atop a beautiful limestone cliff on the southern edge of Bohol’s Panglao Island, Amorita is a tranquil seaside retreat that marries world-class service with signature Filipino hospitality. Managed by boutique hotel group One-Of Collection, the 97-room luxury resort overlooks the azure-colored Bohol Sea and elegantly punctuates the vibrant tropical landscape along Alona Beach.

A TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice and Certificate of Excellence recipient, Amorita is only a 40-minute drive from Bohol’s Tagbilaran Airport, and Bohol is only an 80-minute flight from Metro Manila. Amorita (“little darling”) features 97 luxury suites (including 14 villas), organic modern architecture, an outdoor infinity pool, an in-house dive center, stunning cliff-side views of the Bohol Sea, and innovative dining options at the all-new Toma! Wine Bar and the acclaimed Saffron Restaurant, the only restaurant in Bohol offering authentic Boholano heritage dishes.

This resort is at the end of the Alona beach, but it is so peaceful. It has the most attentive staff who bring iced lollies to the pool side in the morning, visit with cooling face spray and cold towels and in the afternoon serve fruit skewers. The food in the breakfast buffet was good and the lunches in the reception area was excellent value for money and of a good quality. If you want a bit more excitement then the beach is easily accessible down a few steps. here you can find cafes and restaurants with live music, book diving and sightseeing trips and swim or paddle in the sea.

The grounds are impeccably kept and every single employee always stops what they’re doing to greet you good morning/good afternoon/good evening. Breakfast buffet is very good, and the pools are relaxing.

Being a couple that’s past our party days, we loved being above Alona – Amorita was a very “mature” resort that allowed us to relax and choose on our own schedule to mix in with the energy of Alona below. Hennan Resort (on the beach itself) definitely did not seem our speed when we walked by.

Housekeeping staff was wonderful and left cute towel animals on the bed each day with a personalized note. We stayed in a sea view suite (massive) on the ground floor with a private terrace.

The one bedroom suite is massive with a huge balcony. We had no one next door due to where the room was so it was very quiet. There were complimentary snacks and drinks in the room (soft drinks and biscuits) which was a nice touch.

The pool area was really nice but didn’t have many loungers given the size of the hotel. The staff by the pool were so attentive – they brought round watermelon popsicles, iced water, even offered to clean your sunglasses! There is direct access to the quiet end of Alona Beach from the pool area, and plenty restaurants within walking distance.

Without any doubt Amorita was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. From check in to check out everything was perfect. Excellent accommodation, large, comfortable, clean, great shower, good Wifi. The Saffron restaurant with an excellent breakfast with wide variety of options all very tasty. I had lunch there three days and the food was also excellent. The hotel has two great infinity pools but I didn’t use it. I want to thank the hospitality, kindness, friendliness of all hotel staff, all provide excellent service, congratulations to all. The location of the hotel is great, just a few minutes from the center and next to Alona beach. I highly recommend it.

The breakfast buffet was delicious, great choice with lovely fresh fruit selection, different pastries each day, cereals, pancakes, egg/omelette station along with cooked items including hash browns, baked beans, bacon. Thank you to Leo who kept us topped up with tea & coffee during our breakfast each day. The little sweet treats in jars left in our room on arrival and daily were a really nice touch.

The pools are very relaxing, the resort didn’t feel particularly busy while we were there. Similarly we didn’t eat at any of the restaurants but never saw them very busy and if I’m honest along with the bars they lacked atmosphere but that’s fine since there are many options in walking distance in Bohol.

We stayed in a junior suite sea facing on the top floor which was very spacious, only downside was there was no private balcony or terrace and the windows were very dirty so we couldn’t enjoy the view. The terrace is adjoined to the communal stairs and over looks the back of the block and some greenery.

South Palms Resort Panglao

Just steps from Bolod Beach, South Palms Resort Panglao features a spa, a gym and an outdoor pool. Complimentary WiFi access is provided throughout the property.

The tropically decorated rooms are air-conditioned, and feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a personal safe, tea/coffee making amenities and a minibar. The private bathroom comes with hot/cold shower facilities and toiletries.

Oceanica Restaurant serves local and international seafood delights, while East Pool Bar and Coast Pool.

The longest stretch of natural white sand beach in the entire island- South Palms Resort Panglao stands out with its unique blend of spectacular seascape, cool private villas and warm Boholano hospitality. Discover architecture that highlights local craftsmanship and Boholano heritage.

Just a few steps from the beach, each of our tropical-styled rooms frames a panoramic glimpse of the sea. And just beyond our sandy shores, marine sanctuaries teeming with aquatic life awaits you. First-class amenities cater to a wide range of activities including sports, business and recreation. Fresh produce and live catch from our farms are delivered daily straight to our kitchens for fabulous meals everyday.

The room was clean, hygiene kit was complete and they always made sure we had bottled waters for the whole day. The whole place was exclusive for checked in clients so privacy is definitely not an issue. I also live how consistently friendly and hospitable all the staff were. They always greeted and smiled to the guests.

For the food at Oceania Restaurant and Coastal Pool and Bar, everything we tried was great. The breakfast buffet had several choices from pancakes, waffles, breads and pastries, eggs, bacon, filipino food, dumplings, wanton, congee, salad, cold cuts, fruits and cereals. Our tummies were full and satisfied. The bar has a happy hour which we took advantage of from 3pm-5pm. There is also a free shuttle going to Alona at 3pm and pick up from there is 5pm.

Their breakfast food has many choices which I love because I love breakfast buffets. Though the regular prices in the restaurant are expensive and has limited options, they offer free shuttle around 3PM to 5PM going to Alona where you can find cheaper choices of food. They also assist you in calling for tricycle going out the resort. They really have great customer service and are very polite.

If you are in for a chill and relaxing experience, this is the place for you. The sound of the birds in the morning and calming waves at nights are my favorite.

This is a stunning resort. It doesn’t feel like a resort at all though. It feels like a boutique hotel and has some incredible touches that made our stay absolutely unforgettable. Huge private beach feels like your own, swinging beds in the palm trees, amazing sunsets.

Absolutely amazing. Upgrading to the Premium Beachfront Suites is worth every penny because of the quiet and proximity you get from the best part of their private beach. It is made for total relaxation as the resort is full of hammocks, cabanas, beachfront massages, and pools. The water is clear, warm, and shallow, perfect for dipping! We saw the occasional starfish under, but mostly fine white sand.

South Palms Resort delivered a quality hard product for our 3 night stay this past weekend! Resort grounds are well kept beach is pristine and “manicured” every morning. Great food at the restaurant — diverse breakfast spread with selection varying every morning. Awesome staff at the dive shop on property which were accommodating in planning a dolphin watching excursion. Best asset of the resort was the staff!

The beach and amenities are all well maintained and they even feed the wild birds in the area. I don’t know if the cultural dance is a regular performance, but we enjoyed it especially those other foreign guests. I think they need to add more variety on the food selection. This is a very nice place if you want to relax, unwind and spend time with your loved ones. Overall this was an amazing experience.

3. Island World Panglao 3* – Gay Friendly Hotels Panglao

Island World Panglao

Island World Panglao is situated in Panglao, within 800 m of Alona Beach. Boasting an outdoor swimming pool, this property is set near attractions such as Danao Beach. Each room is fitted with a terrace with pool views.

At the resort, every room is equipped with a balcony with a garden view. The rooms come with a kettle, while some have a patio. All rooms have a desk.

Island World Panglao offers a continental or à la carte breakfast.

Island World Panglao is a beautiful and cozy resort with 10 individual bungalows. All bungalows facing a 25 meter pool with jacuzzi and additional kids pool. Island World Panglao has inhouse restaurant and spa/massage.
The room is a mixture of modern and wooden design. It’s spacious and clean. 🙂 Friendly and accommodating staff. Very approachable owner and is good at chess! Haha! If you want a quick getaway and experience normal place again, then this is the place to go. 😉 You can enjoy doing your personal exercise, spend some quality time with your loved ones!
This is an AMAZING resort, beautiful pools and rooms, perfect location, helpful staff, great restaurant with great prices, outdoor cinema, lovely atmosphere. The best thing is the owner, really kind guy that will do anything he can to help guests and make their stay wonderful. We would highly recommend, very high standard and great value compared to most in the area.
This is a quiet resort with relatively few bungalows and apartments, all within a few meters from two rectangular pools that allows proper swimming. The bungalows are relatively basic but very clean and comfortable.
They have an excellent shuttle service that takes you downtown as well as to wonderful Dumaluan beach for free. Waiting time for the shuttle is next to nothing and the driver is always very polite.
Tucked away a distance from the busy road and still within decent distance to Alona beach, this place gave us the proper relaxation that we needed with its chill ambiance and soothing calmness.
Everything about it was wonderful and great standard; from the lovely bungalows, the cleanliness and maintaining of property, the convenient free shuttle service, the pool, the massage service, the assistance of tour booking, the breakfast, and of course the amazing group of staff who goes above and beyond.
The rooms are spacious and clean (as well as very comfortable) with all the facilities working well. The pool and the hotel grounds were kept spotless and was always pleasant to come back to. It’s as beautiful as the photos!

Alona beach is a short 10 minute walk away, and if you want the team do provide a free shuttle ride down to the beach, whenever you need it. The staff were always so friendly and helpful, always so welcoming.

The room was nice and spacious and the outside even better. Very good pool which you could use any time of day/night which is a nice touch. We loved the fact that even though you didn’t really need it because its so close, you had a free shuttle to Alona Beach until 10pm. If you wanted to, you could rent a motorbike for 400 pesos per day which was cheaper then some places in town. You didn’t have a limit time to have breakfast and all the food we tried was very good.

The staff were really nice and accommodating with everything we needed and the owner was present and made sure that everything was running smoothly. It just had a really nice, relaxing vibe. Don’t think twice about staying here.
