Eco Friendly Hotels Cancun

An eco hotel, or a green hotel, is an environmentally sustainable hotel or accommodation that has made important environmental improvements to its structure in order to minimize its impact on the natural environment and eco hotels Cabo San Lucas are considered excellent place to hang out for a couple of nights in Mexico City and then beyond in Mexico.

In order to help the air pollution dilemma, Mexico has developed vertical gardens and a public bike sharing program to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The top three environmental issues in Mexico are air pollution, lack of clean water, and deforestation.

All rooms open onto the courtyard which contains a swimming pool and jacuzzi. The owners are in residence to assure that you feel completely at home and give you a taste of traditional Mexican hospitality. We invite you to join us in our efforts to make an ecological concept a reality.

We do our best to respect the environment by using solar hot water heaters, recycling by separation of trash, composing of garden and kitchen wastes, and capturing of rain water. We even have an unusual solar clothes dryer .Some rooms are equipped with suitable technology in composting toilets.

The eco-credentials are legitimate, and not the greenwashing typical of most hotels. And the price is exceptionally good for all this. Full marks!

Nice neighborhood with parks, restaurants, and the main bus station nearby; incredible gardens where you can hang out, swim, and eat breakfast; and all of the important eco-friendly details.

We especially appreciated reading about all of the plants and animals who live in this part of Mexico, learning about the ways the hotel saves water and uses solar electricity, and seeing the use of refillable glass water bottles in rooms instead of plastic. This is not a beach hotel, but is in a good location for getting to/from the airport or sightseeing anywhere in the region.

Our room was spacious and the air conditioner was quiet and efficient. It was complemented by the ceiling fan. The room included amenities such as a small stove in the kitchenette area along with a refrigerator. There were dishes and eating utensils.

The room would make a great base camp if you were staying there for a longer period of time.

AS the name states, the hotel is a very eco conscious hotel which practices decomposition of the waste generated along with other green practices.

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast which is included with the room. There is a small pool and nearby are hammocks, longed chairs and even a place to practice yoga. They offer massages and yoga on the grounds.

The hotel itself is adorable, with a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, and the breakfast is delicious.

I really appreciate that they try to be as eco-conscious as possible. The location is nice and central, walking distance to some delicious restaurants, a grocery store, and a bus station. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Cancun.

. The main bathroom attached to the bedroom area of the suite has a huge shower and separate jetted tub. There is a separate half-bath off the living room part of the suite as well. We enjoyed having two balconies, one for drying swimsuits and the other for drinking coffee and enjoying the full ocean views. They have added eco-friendly features including automated blinds and various “mood lighting” settings. I can’t think of anything more spectacular than pushing the button next to the bed in the morning and the blinds opening to reveal that incredible view!! And the bathrobes… the softest, fluffiest robe I have ever worn!

My main concern in booking the Tierra Suite was its location directly across from the elevator. Due to the reconfiguration of the room entrance, I didn’t hear any sound whatsoever.

They have even done something to the doors so they don’t slam as they used to when people weren’t careful entering or exiting rooms. I think it’s safe to say that the Tierra suite is now our favorite room!

The most unique dining experience was our dinner at the newly built In’Laakech. Former mb Chef Willian and manager Karla have created an absolutely magical place. We tried the 8-course tasting menu. From the first glass of Moet champagne to the final handmade truffles at the end, we were delighted and surprised.

There is an extra cost (about US$100 per person including wine pairings) but a similar dinner around here is $350 per person. It was an unforgettable experience!

All in all we had a great time here, we were so relaxed and happy. This resort is a great first impression of Mexico, we had lots of excursions planned before we went and only ended up doing chichen itza and coco bongos as we wanted to stay in the resort!

I was also surprised at how eco friendly Mexico is in terms of recycling and using biodegradable products (straws and containers).

PROS: smooth check-in, gracious & helpful staff to get us settled, unbelievably comfortable bed, big shower with immediate hot water and awesome water pressure, relaxing spa tub, balcony seating, clean & beautiful rooms that really match the website photos.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented in the restaurants, excellent buffet restaurant – lots of options and very flavorful. I was pleased to find brand name beers, liquor and house wine available although the mixed drinks/tropical drinks didn’t work out so well (see below).

The gym was sizable for a resort, clean with good equipment.

The pools were beautiful (even in the rain) and most were very large.

The children’s pool was much larger than I would have expected and looked like it would be an absolute blast for the little tikes. Had it been sunny I would have appreciated the large number of shade options (palapas, umbrellas, etc).

No straws —- sounds petty and I get it that they don’t in order to have “eco-friendly” status; however, frozen drinks don’t work or taste right without a straw.

The resort is very eco-friendly (which we really appreciated) and is designed to be less energy consuming with the open lobby area and a whole lot of ventilation (with a beautiful view of the ocean).

We had the opportunity to eat at the “Marché” – which is a buffet style restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The service there was impeccable.

Our room was located in the right wing of the resort and our room had two queen sized beds, a balcony with view to the nearest pool and the ocean.

We had a very spacious shower with two shower heads and a jacuzzi tub. Two sinks and the toilet was separate with its own door.

Pools
Sparkling clean. Chairs are plentiful. Towels are too, but figure out the stations where they are at because there aren’t a lot of them. When you know where they are, the stations were never empty. Activities were fun and relaxed.

Food/restaurants: lots of options. I think there were 11 restaurants to choose from. The food was pretty typical of a resort. I can’t say that I had any culinary epiphanies, but all the food was good and plentiful. The D.C. Dinner on the beach was really good. Room service was easy to order through your tv/services system and was both pretty quick and good. Bartenders at the sports bar were very fun.

Environmentally friendly: the resort is in the middle of a national park. If you want to do kayaking or cats, you’ll need to pay $3 US for a wrist band that pays for the upkeep of the park. If you keep the bracelet, you can keep going. If you take it off, you’ll have to buy a new one.

This applies to excursions like boating or snorkeling too. Also, we didn’t find out until the end of our trip that the toilets are eco friendly and you aren’t supposed to flush anything but… the obvious.
