Lesbiangaybisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in the United States have evolved in recent decades. However, LGBT Americans may still face some legal and many social challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, particularly in states with large conservative populations, such as in the Deep South; in rural areas; and in some Native American tribal nations.

U.S. federal law does not explicitly include protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In June 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are included under “sex” as a prohibited ground of employment discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the U.S. state of Florida may face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Same-sex sexual activity became legal in the state after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Lawrence v. Texas on June 26, 2003, and same-sex marriage has been legal in the state since January 6, 2015.
The Florida cities were all highlighted for their year-round sunshine and lack of state income tax. Wilton Manors, Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach and Oakland Park, Florida, ranked among the most-demand gayfriendly cities for LGBTQ travelers during the holidays
Orlando has a long history of being a  gay friendly town and in downtown we can find a few gay friendly bars as well as Savoy Orlando or Barcodes Orlando  & Hank’s Bar  are the most famous gay bars in Orland, FL.
Orlando, a city in central Florida, is home to more than a dozen theme parks. There are dozens of hotels near Disney Springs This is one of the best ones as I have stayed on others. It has everything you need aside from being close to all the parks and restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. You feel safe and secure which is something important to everyone.

The room was very large and comfortable and included a refrigerator. The pool area was also very nice and relaxing. Breakfast was $13 a day per room but it included a variety of hot items and was well worth the price. The eating area itself was spacious and clean. Staff greeted us warmly every morning and every evening. The hotel is conveniently located close to Disney Springs. I would stay here again in a heartbeat; the value for our money was incredible.

The only suggestion I have is for the park shuttle to leave earlier; the first shuttle leaves at 8:50 which is just too late … so we ended up driving to the parks ourselves. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a budget-friendly  & gay friendly option near Disney.

This was a very nice option to stay during our trip to Disney. Magic Kingdom is just 10 minutes away, Animal Kingdom 12 minutes away, and Disney Springs is closer than that, 3km. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and big, with a fridge in case you want to have cold bottled water. Breakfast was included for us and it’s nice, there are fruits, yogurt, bread, eggs, bacon, coffee, tea, orange juice, milk, pancakes, etc.

Just what you need for your Disney Park. There’s an Olive Garden and Denny’s right next to the hotel, so it’s very convenient. Every hotel employee is friendly and helpful.

The rooms are quite spacious and very well kept. The property is in a quiet location, although in peak hours, it might be hard to exit as it’s a high traffic intersection. Staff is extremely friendly, and the breakfast, which was the highlight, is nothing short of excellent.

We really enjoyed the spacious and clean rooms. They are much larger than a standard room elsewhere. The location is great as well, lots of restaurants and shopping close by. It’s located quite close to the entrance of Disney Springs and the rest of Disney World.

The bed was a cozy king-sized with goose down everything and at times my gf and i didnt feel like getting up to go on about our planned days lol. The room and hotel both had a neat trendy style to it and for the money, i felt it sure did offer a lot. my favourites: free access to a health center facility just across from it for exercising; complimentary breakfast – juices/coffee/croissants/bagel/pastries (non-continental), shuttle service to the parks/the downtown of the town.

he Melia is just off I-4 on route 192, near most Orlando theme parks and attractions. We booked through Booking.com and upgraded from a single pool room view to a 5th floor suite (pool view) that was spacious and comfortable. Suite came with a small, well- appointed kitchen, allowing for minor meal prep – a welcome respite from the high-priced fare at the theme parks and restaurants in the area. Five guys burgers is nearby and delicious, as is Starbucks, Walgreens, CVS. Walmart is a 10 minute drive.

Pool is great and overall the hotel and lounge areas is larger than we initially expected. While a tad on the pricey side, the breakfast buffet is fantastic and certainly well worth it – particularly when comparing it to alternatives. Melia staff we interacted with were fantastic, including: front desk, restaurant/bar, housekeeping and grounds. To a person, staff were friendly, helpful and strived to facilitate a comfortable stay.

Just to be clear, the hotel is not a brand new, nor is it a heavily marbled, 5-star experience, per se, but the features, location and staff made the experience a “high recommend”. Transportation to and from the theme parks was on time and reliable. Last, but not least, you definitely need a vehicle if you are going to go anywhere other than the theme parks as the Orlando area is vast. If you are elderly or a slow driver, be prepared to be immersed in very fast, and occasionally frenetic traffic and be sure to get a vehicle with a good GPS. Overall, we strongly recommend the Melia.

Basic room but with everything you could want in it. Comfy bed and very quiet. We had great sleeps!
Pool area lovely with lots of chairs and plentiful thick towels. The pool was freezing but we didn’t mind too much, very refreshing in the hot weather.

Location is great, we like to walk if at all possible and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. This hotel is not in downtown Celebration but on the outskirts. They do offer a free car service though!

Nice big room, with a full kitchen, large bathroom and very large bedroom. Staff was super helpful, friendly and truly wanted to know how we were enjoying our vacation. Onsite arranging transportation to major attractions, selling of tickets, booked car rental for us. Restaurant was really good, pizza rocked and breakfast buffet had a good variety of choices! Would highly recommend staying here.

Staybridge Suites in LBV is in an excellent location. You are able to walk to several restaurants, pharmacy and grocery store. Disney attractions are a 10-20 min drive away, depending on which attraction you are going to and Universal is 16 minutes away. Location is really fantastic. Front Desk staff are super friendly. We stayed here for 10 days.

The kitchen is decently equipped. We could have used a colander, kitchen towel, and oven mitts but all else is provided to make basic meals. Our pancake turner was missing but a quick call to the front desk got us one very quickly.

The living/dining room comes equipped with a DVD player, sleeper sofa and a space for 4 people to sit and eat.

Housekeeping is minimal at this time but we like that anyway. We brought our own cleaning supplies.

Breakfast is included. You must show up with your entire party and go through a line, telling the server what you would like. Then you take it to your room to eat it. It had the usual breakfast items. Not horrible but not great. It’s food and will get you through. Having said that, I must say that the warm blueberry muffin was so much better than I thought it would be.

Laundry facility is in a separate building. They had approximately 6 or 7 machines and dryers too. Make sure you bring cash. The machines take tokens and the token machines only take dollar bills. You can buy laundry supplies from another machine in the laundry room.

The pool is small and can get crowded. Early morning was the best time to go. Afternoon crowds varied from day to day.

We loved our outside entry room as we enjoy feeling like we have our own little apartment but I think the outside access also lent to a slight musty smell from the carpet in our room. We were very happy that we didn’t see any bugs.

Decor was nice and has been updated relatively recently. Our room looked like the online photos.

Lastly, I would stay here again. When the price is right, it is a tremendous value, close to Orlando Attractions, 2 beds and 2 baths was wonderful and cooking “at home” in the evening suits us but we also had access to tons of restaurants when it didn’t. Just remember that parking is $10/day so factor that expense in.

Overall, it was a very good, value for money stay and it was one of the best accommodation that we had stayed in during our vacation. Highly recommended! Keep up the great work.
