Islam is now the second largest religion in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with results from the United Kingdom 2011 Census giving the UK Muslim population in 2011 as 2,516,000, 4.4% of the total population, while more recent Office of National Statistics sources have it in 2018 as 3,372,966.
By Crescent Rating, United Kingdom is 31st rated among most Muslim-friendly countries.
How many mosques are there in London
The mosque is first and foremost a place of prayer. There are estimated to be almost 2,000 mosques and Islamic prayer rooms in the UK, serving 4.1 million Muslims, or 6.3% of the UK population. About 1500 of those Mosques were located in London as of 2016.
The Muslim friendly hotel means a hotel that has Islamic characteristics that can provide basic facilities that are more friendly to Muslim customers such as a Qibla direction indicator, the availability of prayer tools, the presence of halal food / list of nearby restaurants that provide halal food.

Like other tourists, Muslim travelers coming from Islamic countries have particular requirements when they choose the destination for their vacation. Among these requirements, Muslims are concerned about the availability of halal compliant foods (no pork or alcohol in food) and a clean place to pray.

Many international hotels in London do serve halal food that is slaughtered in accordance with the teachings of Islamic Sharia and is free of any substances forbidden by Islam such as pork and alcohol.

Other Islamic countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Oman and Brunei continue to be popular with Muslim tourists. Among non-OIC countries, Singapore, Thailand, the UK, Japan and Taiwan remain the top five respectively, but show improved scores on the index.

Very pretty rooms with all the best amenities. Exceptionally clean.

Before booking, however, be aware that this is an Halal hotel, so no pork or alcohol will be served.

The staff were excellent. Had the best steak ever!
It’s a halal hotel and I highly recommend it. Close proximity to DLR to Excel and Westfield Stratford shopping centers.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and well appointed, the shower was fab. Comfy bed and curtains that really did block out the light ! All the staff were pleasant and helpful which should be a given but isn’t always the case.

The Halal breakfast was delicious , I’m now a fan of beef bacon and chicken sausages neither of which I’d had before.

The food was tasty, plentiful and hot. The hotel was very quiet overnight even though it’s on a busy high street. I would definitely stay again.

I was aware before arrival that this was a halal hotel and therefore no pork products in the breakfast, but it made no difference to me as the selection of food on offer was much wider than I had expected and the quality of the food was amazing.

There are signs saying you can bring your own alcohol if wanted.

Halal food was greatly appreciated and is very accommodating for Muslim guests.

The restaurant was excellent, but due to the owners being Muslim, please note that there is no bar.

They are happy for you to drink your own drinks though. This also means that there is no bacon/sausage at breakfast with the usual fry-up

If you can cope with this then the Westbridge is a pleasant place to stay with very friendly staff.

Not to forget the scones with cream and strawberry preserve. Overall room where this was served was really grand and service was also excellent. Price wise also reasonable. Location was also tops. Highly recommended.

The spa was heaven, and the food even more heavenly. The staff could not have been anymore attentive, polite and delightful.

I have just returned after a 5 day stay in The Café Royal at Piccadilly Circus in the heart of London. It is, without doubt, the apotheosis of class and sophistication, dignified, stylish, yet modern. It manages to ooze history and grandeur, yet extends warmth and friendliness to all who attend.

Its palatial entrance highlighted by such a wonderful chandelier would grace any of the finest establishments throughout the world. Olivia and the reception staff will greet you with a winning smile and the knowledgeable concierge will direct you to the innermost secrets of London’s West End.

The restaurants and bars are diverse, as they are timeless. The ostentatious grill, frequented by Oscar Wilde, Marilyn Munro and Churchill no less, is a golden treat, serving an incredible afternoon tea in the great British Tradition.

Laurent restaurant, wonderfully marshaled by the stylish Sicilian Daniele brings not only a delightful array of meats and fish, but manages to incorporate some of the finest Sushi I have ever indulged in. All this while Karim mixes stylish cocktails throughout the evening.

The omnipotent experience continues as you proceed to Ziggy’s Bar a minimalist gem previously frequented by the likes of Bowie and Jagger where Miguel will chat you through the vast amounts of Scottish and American Whiskies, among others. It would be wrong not to thank Vincenzo for his charm and humour at Breakfast and just for the sheer fun of living a visit to Cakes and Bubbles is an absolute must.

I have visited many of the wonderful hotels that London has to offer, and I have now concluded that Café Royal is simply the best!

The design can be described as a pure industrial style – combining Dutch design classics with cherry-picked items and custom made pieces. The living room is where good food and drinks are served.

Nice hotel in an really good location. We paid for a waterview room and it was worth the extra. Rooms are quite small but clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly.

I’ve stayed in some fabulous hotels in London but I think for value for money, cleanliness and customer service this was one of the best by far.

Our check in was smooth, our bags were stored in the luggage room as we were very early, we were offered complimentary tea/coffee and given two passes to use to take us on the cable car across the water.

After a spot of lunch at the O2 we returned to the hotel checked in to our room and made our way to the roof top bar.
This is such a bonus! Great bar and fabulous views!

The rooms are small, simply furnished and spotlessly clean. There are basic essential toiletries and a hairdryer was given to me to use during my stay.
The bed was very comfortable.

Breakfast, again this is simple. A pastry/cake, fruit, juice, yoghurt and tea/coffee.

The hotel (and the sister hotels) donates a portion of the price you pay to a charity supporting children in poverty. There is evidence of this work visible in the lobby.

Finally, I have to give praise to the staff for being so friendly and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble.

Will definitely stay here again!

On arrival we had a complimentary non-alcoholic champagne in our room with a welcome “congratulations” cake waiting for us in our Room which was a lovely surprise! It’s always the little details that count.
We had a room right at the top with a great balcony and terrace area looking over London! Room was clean and modern looking. Very cool and chic!

Great experience, friendly and and welcoming staff ..

I recommend this hotel for families with kids..

The location of the hotel is superb near to the high end fashion shops and next to halal restaurants besides that lots of cafes are around the hotel.

The food is Halal for people who are looking for halal food. The restaurant has a wide range of food options, local and international.

Because the hotel has limited number of rooms you would receiving a personalized services.

The location is ideal – just a few steps from the Pierre Herme Boutique and easy walking distance to Harrods and Harvey Nichols.

The bathroom was medium sized with a sink, toilet, bidet, and bathtub/shower combination. We liked the photography of flowers, the Temple Spa amenities and the tile decoration.
