Hotel Beau Séjour Lucerne
Hotel Beau Séjour Lucerne

Featuring a garden, terrace and free WiFi, Hotel Beau Séjour Lucerne is located in Luzern, an 11-minute walk from Lion Monument and 1 km from KKL Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne. The property is set a 15-minute walk from Chapel Bridge, 500 m from Grand Casino Lucerne and a 12-minute walk from Glacier Garden Lucerne. Attractions in the area include Swiss Museum of Transport, a 12-minute walk away, or Hertenstein street, situated 1.1 km from the property.

Set in an historical building, each room is fitted with a desk and a flat-screen TV. Selected rooms also boast a kitchen with an oven and a microwave. Guest rooms feature a wardrobe.

A buffet breakfast is served every morning at the property.

Featuring views of Lake Lucerne, this informal hotel in a restored belle epoque building is 2 km from both Lucerne railway station and Chapel Bridge, a covered medieval wood footbridge.

Featuring original parquet floors, the relaxed rooms with modern touches and unique artwork provide Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and private bathrooms. Upgraded rooms add balconies and/or lake views. Suites offer separate living rooms.

Great Belle Epoque Design-Hotel built in 1875. Unique design, first class service, wild art installations & wallpapers and a fantastic lake view makes this place just amazing.

The room was very cosy and extremely quiet, perfectly adequate and charmingly furnished. The bed really comfortable. There was a small portable air conditioner fitted to the window on to a tiny but very sweet balcony. The bathroom was very good, save for the shower pan which can be tripped onto when using the washbasin, and has no grab rail, safety non slip mat, nor a little shelf for shampoos etc. Otherwise excellent products and good towels are in evidence.

The location is good, within easy bus ride or even walking distance (if it’s not raining ) of the centre and we were offered travel passes for the bus and trains in the area, so taking out the car was unnecessary to go to town. Coffee is available even if you opt for not taking the breakfast.

Charming small hotel on the shore of Lake Lucerne. Stayed here for three days/nights, and I was fortunate to have the room with the large balcony facing the lake. There is some street noise during the day and evening but it was minimal during sleeping hours. The hotel staff were warm and friendly, the common area was an ideal spot for early evening refreshments, and the breakfast was well appointed. Clean, inviting, well located, terrific service. Perfect for solo travelers or, as with our party, a few friends.

Great location with public transportation to center of town and shopping. Friendly staff, beautiful clean rooms and comfortable beds. Awesome view of the lake. I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

Exceptional design in this hotel. Every room is tastefully and imaginatively decorated. Great breakfasts in another beautiful room. Location within easy walking distance to centre of town. Hotel overlooks lake. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and rightly proud of what they have created. I would highly recommend this hotel for its quality and comfort.

With its enchanting charm and smaller size, Hotel Beau Sejour is the perfect place to stay while in Lucerne. The pleasant decor is out of this world-elegant, comfortable, exquisite. Service has been top notch! Bus stop is close, which is a great way to get to town, however the short walk to the center of town is delightful along the lake path. We loved our balcony room which had a view of Lake Lucerne and Mt. Pilatus! An added plus, breakfast is included.

Our first trip to the lovely city of Lucerne was further enhanced by our stay at the Art Deco Hotel Montana. A warm welcome at the reception, after a nice little ride up the hotel’s funicular was the start of a wonderful 4 nights stay.

We loved the view of the lake from our room balcony, and would highly recommend getting a room with one! The beds were extremely comfortable, and we had some of our soundest sleep in all of our 18 days trip there.

The gratis apples were a nice, little touch as were the bus passes for our entire stay there.

The location is really good and all the staff were very very helpful. We had a Lake view room and had beautiful breathtaking views from the room. The room was very spacious. I loved the lift that took you all the way down from the hotel. Ok first day I wasn’t aware of the lift so we walked all the way up, and it was a very very steep climb. Was glad to discover the lift. It’s a very short walk from the main station and the famous wooden bridge. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

It is called the Art Deco Hotel because that is the way it is – beautifully appointed guest rooms, public rooms, hallways, doors, elevator, carpet, & a fabulous stairway. We ate dinner the first night at the wonderful restaurant, & to save a bit of Swiss Francs, ate the last two nights at the hotel’s Louis Bar. We leisurely drank, ate, & listened to live music – great piano & violin. The hotel staff is consistently attentive & super-friendly.

We splurged on a lake-view room, & it was worth it. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs & table & unforgettable views + drop-dead gorgeous views from the bathtub! We had unobstructed lake views & watched the full moon over the lake, the lights of Lucerne, & the morning fog. With my zoom lens, I shot not only the Chapel Bridge, the Jesuitenkirche, & the clocktower of the Rathaus in old Lucerne, but also close-ups of Mt. Pilatus & the Alps.

The hotel is in a great & quiet location quick & easy up the hillside funicular, a pleasant walk from the old town along the lakefront, & an easy walk from the train.

Lucerne is a charming & beautiful town & very much worth a visit. It is filled with painted medieval buildings, has 2 covered bridges filled with artwork, & is bordered by medieval walls & towers that you can climb. We did an easy day trip to Mt. Pilatus – the Golden round trip, i.e., lake boat, then cogwheel train up, & gondola, cable car, & bus back (all on one ticket). The cog wheel train is an experience in itself; it is the world’s steepest train (with a maximum grade of 48%!). The views of the alps were stupendous, & I was able to take a good zoom photo of my Hotel Montana room window right from the top of Mt. Pilatus.

So all in all, did we love our experience, you bet. Will we be coming back, you bet. You should spend time in Lucerne & try this hotel.

3. Hotel De La Paix  4* – Gay Friendly Hotels Lugano Switzerland

Hotel De La Paix
Hotel De La Paix

The Hotel de la Paix is housed in a stylish 18th-century building near Lake Lugano, about 1 km from the city centre and the train station. It offers an outdoor poolfree WiFi, free parking on site and free minibar use.

The 2 restaurants at the Hotel de la Paix offer Italian and international cuisine. The Neptune opens to the garden terrace and offers a refined and relaxing atmosphere. Here guests can start their day with a varied buffet breakfast. The Al Barilotto, designed in the rustic and casual local style, is well known for its Italian specialities, grilled dishes and pizzas.

All rooms feature air conditioning, satellite TV, and a bathroom with a hairdryer.

A 2-minute walk from the Lago di Lugano waterfront, this grand hotel in the village of Paradiso is also a 5-minute walk from the Funicolare Monte San Salvatore cable car and 2 km from Lugano’s old town.

Polished rooms with classic decor feature free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, as well as desks and minibars. Some have balconies; suites add either seating areas or separate living rooms.

Breakfast and parking are complimentary. There’s a rustic Italian eatery, and a fine dining restaurant with a seasonal terrace, plus an elegant bar. Other amenities include a garden, an outdoor pool, a contemporary art gallery and meeting/event spaces.

The Hotel de la Paix is located close to Lake Lugano and at a walking distance from the city center, 5 km from the Lugano-Agno airport, 1 km from the train station and offers exclusively to its guests a large private parking. Its multilingual staff will be delighted to welcome you with warmth and cordiality. Each of our 131 rooms and suites is furnished in an elegant style and equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, Minibar and Wireless Internet connection in order to meet the highest expectations both of our holiday and business guests.

The garden-terrace with its heated swimming pool in the summertime and the portico are ideal places to spend relaxing moments and admire the magnificent amphitheatre formed by the surrounding mountains. There are two restaurants offering Italian and international cuisine. The NEPTUNE opens into the garden terrace and offers a refined and relaxing atmosphere. At the popular AL BARILOTTO, designed in the rustic and casual local style, you will enjoy our grill specialties and our pizzas.

Walking into this hotel was wonderful as the high ceiling at the reception area evoked the feeling that it was going to be good and it was! There was a separate cosy waiting room opposite the reception and this would lend itself to keeping the reception area de-cluttered of people and allowing arriving guests to feel the inviting calm of a great stay.

Reception staff were so efficient and more importantly genuinely welcoming, friendly and ever so helpful. I would have loved a few more nights as I was only there overnight. But there is always a next time!

The location of the hotel was splendid as it was just a short walk to the lake and what a pretty view it was. It is under 2 km from the train station and therefore walkable but it really depends on your luggage.

My room was superb and the luxurious decor beyond expectations. Oh be still my heart. Slippers were provided which was excellent (a must have for me) and they were well padded and did not feel nor look “cheap” and uncomfortable sans socks.

The bed was inviting and oh so comfortable and the soft duvet made for a really fabulous night’s sleep.

The bathroom was not quite as luxurious and looked pretty ordinary. The shower was over a narrow bath but you had the choice of a handheld shower or fixed shower head. Full amenities were provided as expected.

Coffee facilities were available but no complimentary bottles of water were provided to my disappointment. I hope it was not for the reasons of economy but the non-plastic revolution as I suspect some hotels are starting to sneak this through. Water ought to be as important as free wifi and usb chargers at the wall but with the plastic problem, I will adapt.

I look forward to returning one day in the future.

Hotel de la Paix is an excellent hotel. We received an upgraded room which was quite palatial but I think all the rooms would be good. It’s a little bit up from the lake so you get an excellent view from the room and only a short walk down to the lake shore where you can catch boats in either direction. Gandria one way and Morcote the other make good trips.

There are also frequent buses into the town centre (only 5/10 minutes). Martina on guest relations greeted us on arrival and was most helpful with suggestions and then asked each morning how we had got on. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Lugano is a lovely town to spend a few days and the Hotel de la Paix an excellent place to stay.
