Eco Friendly Hotels Croatia

Guide Eco Hotels in Croatia ( 2024 Updated)

An eco hotel, or a green hotel, is an environmentally sustainable hotel or accommodation that has made important environmental improvements to its structure in order to minimize its impact on the natural environment and eco friendly hotels Croatia are considered excellent place to hang out for a couple of nights in Dubrovnik and then beyond in Croatia.

The idea of “green” or sustainable or eco-friendly hotels is a relatively new one in Croatia or at least it’s been put on the back-burner as Croatian hotels attracted new investment to rebuild, refurnish and renovate decades-old properties. Within the past few years, the hotel industry itself has recognized the value of acting to protect and preserve Croatia’s natural heritage and not despoil the environment.

To that end, the Association of Employers in Croatian Hospitality (UPUHH) has started a program to set standards for environmental friendliness and certify hotels who comply with international standards of sustainability

This was our second stay at the Eco-friendly apartment with a perfect location…an easy walk to Riva promenade or Bacvice beach.
The apartment was very new/up to date and spotless and has a washing machine which came in handy for us.
It was very nice to have a private small yard that faced a park.
Rating of all of our stays in Croatia this was one the best and most welcoming.
The only reason why there is not a five is because I did not have a view to the sea.Jozo and his family are wonderful and very easy to work with. If you ever need anything Jozo is always there to help.
The free WiFi in the apartment was a fantastic plus! If you are staying in Split for a week I would highly recommend this place for a couple.
It is better than the average hotel.

The apartment itself is tucked just out of the chaos of Split in summer, and the heat too.It was fairly clean, very comfortable, and the washing machine was greatly appreciated.

The room is close to the Riva and Palace but hidden amongst the locals. Easy walk to the beach and port. The room is clean and comfy. Joso the host helps with anything and I think it was his sister who met us, she was welcoming and gave great restaurant suggestions. There are 2 bicycles for use which are great to explore the city and surroundings. Would definitely stay here again.

First time in Croatia and the hotel was in a perfect location about 15 minutes outside Split right on the beach.

The staff were all very friendly and keen for our stay to be memorable and they didn’t disappoint. The hotel us quite quirky but very clean and modern with eco friendly principles.
Would I return, most definitely.

A stunning view over the sea. A good choice for those looking for an eco-friendly option: the hotel collects rainwater, uses solar panels, has heat pumps installed, and provides chargers for Tesla cars. A smart system helps to reduce energy consumption by controlling the lighting and the shutters.

You can book your private spa and I also tried massage that was quite satisfying. Food is perfect. Everything I tried was delicious and looked perfect on the plate. Hotel is new, clean and the stuff is very polite and friendly. Room specious, bathroom with shower and bath so you can choose. Anyway, recommendation for staying in Split area and I will go back for sure in this eco and guest friendly hotel.

Family run, small, eco friendly, spotlessly clean. Staff lovely, nothing too much trouble. Really good inclusive continental breakfast. When we arrived we saw the hotel entrance right on a main road and were prepared to have traffic noise but the rooms are at the back overlooking the beach and we had a fabulous view. Quiet and secluded.

The hotel is on a main bus route between split and omis and ideal for trips and exploring. If you want a peaceful holiday with a personal touch then I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Main city a short bus ride away and beach restaurants a nice walk along the seafront. Excellent value and lots more than we expected. Lovely holiday.

The room was much better with great views (incredible sunsets) and a fabulously comfortable bed. For an eco-hotel we were surprised that the wash basins did not have a plug for water conservation! This hotel is very modern, clean and well equipped. The rooftop pool area has lovely comfortable sun loungers and two person pods and is a good place for a refreshing dip and sunbathe.

The only downside is some road noise could be heard. The hotel beach area is man made with gravel. There are plenty of sunbeds and there is a good beachside restaurant next door (not owned by the hotel) for very reasonably priced lunches. Dinner on the rooftop terrace was good but ruined slightly by the noise from the road. Breakfast was good and taken in a small side room, with freshly cooked eggs upon request. It somehow seemed a shame not to use the attractive main restaurant area for breakfast to make use of the lovely view. This hotel is good but with a touch of soundproofing and a couple of tweaks it could be great.

Very modern and ecological hotel, perfect for couples who want a bit of privacy, beach and nature (in the backyard) and not too far away from Split. All rooms have a balcony or a terrace with the view to the sea. You have the choice between the beach in front of the hotel or the roof of the hotel with swimming pool.

Remember to ask the hotel owner for recommendations; he will be delighted to help arranging biking, kayaking, barbequing, trekking, sailing etc. Also, remember to ask for restaurants. We didn’t have time to try out the wellness, but we got the impression that it would be a treat, also for couples. Further, the staff was extremely friendly and forthcoming.

It is a very modern and eco friendly place. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The rooms were very comfortable and absolutely spotless. The beds spacious and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very well equipped and spacious. The views from the room were spectacular. The pool area was lovely and also spotless. We ate in the restaurant one evening and that was also exceptionally good. The hotel is located a bit of a distance from Split main town but very easily accessible by taxi or bus.

Royal Princess Hotel 5*, with its 54 deluxe high-end accommodations, offers the utmost in luxury. Each suite feels like a private sanctuary equipped with lavish furniture, balcony, living room, kitchenette and boasts breathtaking sea view or relaxing garden view. The hotel is situated steps away from the Adriatic Sea, only 4 km from the Old Town of Dubrovnik.

The stay at Royal Princess was very memorable. The suite that we stayed had breathtaking views of the sea. The breakfast at Royal Princess was good, however we went to the breakfast provided by the chain of hotels nearby Hotel Neptun as there was a wide choice available. The view when having breakfast at the Neptune was amazing.

There are quite few restaurants around for lunch and dinner. The hotel itself has swimming pools and gym. There are buses from outside the hotel to Old Town. Would definitely recommend the hotel and the area.

The amenities in the room were good and included L’Occitane toiletries which were very nice. However, there were a couple of niggles with our room – a few stains on the furniture and carpet and neither shower worked properly on the first day (but were soon fixed when reported). Small oversights like this mean that the hotel can’t really be 5 stars. It’d also be great if the hotel could provide bath sheets (rather than smaller bath towels) and proper hairdryers (rather than the ones stuck on the wall where you have to continuously press a button to make them work).

Breakfast was included in our stay and this was a buffet in the main restaurant. This was a bit of a chaotic affair. Staff were never on hand and had to be sought out if you wanted a cup of coffee. The food was adequate though with plenty of choice.

The hotel is part of a bigger resort of 4 other hotels, and all the restaurants, bars and facilities are available for use. We enjoyed drinks at the “On The Rocks” bar each evening for the great views.

There’s an easy walk to Lapad on a path outside the hotel, and the buses are frequent into the old town. It was nice to be so close yet away from the main tourist areas. This made for a much more relaxing visit.

The hotel is in a wonderful part of Dubrovnik, just a few km north of the Old Town (easily reached by a comfortable ten minute bus ride, with the stop only a two minute walk from the hotel’s entrance). We enjoyed a few full days relaxing at the hotel and we enjoyed wonderful massages at the spa, whose staff were also very warm and welcoming. We had rented a car at the airport so we were able to take day trips to Kotor (Montenegro) and Cavtat and we took a ferry to the Island of Lokrum and we were always given knowledgeable advice on things to do and see and best routes to take.

The breakfast was excellent with many fresh and various choices (Ante greeted us every morning with a smile and great conversation) and we also ate dinner on the terrace at their restaurant, La Castile, and the food, wine and ambiance was superb.

Continental breakfast and parking are complimentary. Other amenities include a chic restaurant with a terrace overlooking the harbor, and an elegant bar.

Transformed from a place to sleep into a place for dreamers, Hotel Adriatic is an intimate space bringing together curious minded travellers and local art inspired by the hotel’s 100 year old heritage – a place where fantasy and reality intertwine.

This hotel has it all – prime location, big rooms, comfortable bed, beautiful decor, friendly staff, yummy breakfast and a great balcony to people watch and drink a glass of wine. I was afraid we would hear a lot of street noise being situated in front of the hotel and on 1st floor, but the windows are soundproof so I slept well. The room we had was very updated and modern with big living space and a giant bathroom (a tub and a shower). I almost didn’t want to leave this room.

The location is the biggest draw – is it close to the old town center and within a short walk to all of the restaurants and sights. I am so glad we stayed here in the lively town center vs. the Grand Park Hotel across the pier (which is actually a longer walk from anything and feels very sterile).

The rooms are ample, spacious, comfortable and extremely quiet being right on the waterfront. I was worried there would be noise but despite the hustle and bustle of marina life we couldn’t hear anything from within the room itself. Beds were individual and very comfortable, bathrooms inviting and functional.

Turn down service was timely and tasteful. We only used the restaurant in the mornings but everything was fresh and with excellent coffee. The decor is very tastefully done, and I might even say glamorous with high quality details throughout. Steps from everything in the old town we will surely come again.

Prime location on the main square of Rovinj within pedestrian zone. The café/bar terrace has a beautiful view of the harbour and main square. Exceptional staff. Warm welcome from Anette, our concierge. Very quiet hotel even with all the late night activity right out front. Excellent air conditioning after a hot August day!

Use the hotel bikes to ride the coastal bike trail around the Golden Cape past numerous sunbathing swimming spots. Several small snack/bar stops on the trail.

Loved the complimentary boat ride to St. Katarina (Island Hotel Katarina) for an awesome full day of beach, pool, exclusive sunbed area, towels, beach side bar service. Indulged in a fabulous sea-side lunch which we charged to our room.

Breakfast (7 am till noon!) was awesome, great variety, quantity, all served a-la-carte.
Highly recommend this hotel for all the reasons above.
